… I’d love to be involved in medicine. It’s a walk of life I’ve always been fascinated in, and I nearly studied to be a doctor at university. It’s funny to think how things might have turned out, don’t you think?
At the time I was competing in modern pentathlon at international level, and I wanted time to continue my athletics. That’s why in the end I decided not to study medicine. Instead I chose to study physiology and biochemistry.
I still read all the medical articles in the press, and now my 17 year-old daughter, who’s taking her A Levels this summer, is applying to read medicine next September. So there may still be a doctor in the family!
Dr. Olley has a nice ring to it, wouldn’t you say?
