I thought Kathy Van Zeeland bags came from New Zealand!

I know that Christmas seems like a distant memory now, but yesterday we revisited it for the afternoon! As well as making a Christmas cake for my family, for the last four years I've also made a cake for the backstage staff, and in particular Tustie who's one of our producers.

Unfortunately she wasn't too well before Christmas, so I waited until our shifts crossed to bring the cake in – hence me bringing it in yesterday. Actually it was good fun, maybe we should do it every year – it's the perfect way to cheer up a grey January day!

Kathy Van Zeeland case and tote bag Whilst I was in work I was preparing for some upcoming shows. I have to say, I'm really excited about by tomorrow's TSV. It's a suitcase and tote bag from Kathy Van Zeeland, and it's GORGEOUS!!

It's a brand I first became aware of before we even launched in on QVC, thanks to my daughter Sophie. She'd seen it in a magazine and thought we should be selling it. I duly went to see the buyers but I couldn't remember the name properly, so I said "I think the brand is from New Zealand!"

The funny thing is, not only did the buyers realise what I was on about, they had just presented the range to the business with a view to selling it! I was lucky enough to do the first show with Kathy herself, and I've been using a 'Kathy' bag as my everyday bag for a few months now. On a recent visit to the dentist the nurse couldn't stop talking about it. I don't think my dentist really understood all the fuss, but then he is a man!

Sophie loves her bags and her latest find on the website is Butler & Wilson – good job she's still got some birthday money left to spend!

See you all soon,
Julia x

    Hello Julia
Just discovered your diary – I have been watching your shows on QVC for years and especially love it when you team up with Dale – great rapport and giggles galore.
You are such an upbeat lady and very honest when talking about the products. I have 3 gorgeous tiffany dragon fly lamps and I am a cat lover too. I am about your age and wish I looked as good as you – definately improving with age girl. My son, like yours is a PT too but too busy to train his mum – I struggle with my weight and exercise but you do inspire me – you have fab firm arms.I am not a Palace fan though! Used to go to Chelsea in my youth – Peter Osgood et all. I was watching a few weeks ago when you nearly ‘lost it’ my heart went out to you. Believe me you contained it very well (I shed a tear with you), and you still maintained your impeccable professionlism. I lost my dad 14 years ago and my dear mum on 28th December 2006 – sometimes it is overwhelming but to coin a phrase ‘time is a great healer’ and it does get easier to bear. Keep smiling and good luck with all your ventures.

    Hi Lyn
Great to hear from you and thanks for the lovely compliments. I must confess to not going in the gym at all this week – too busy decorating! I haven’t always been a Palace fan ( I followed Leeds in the 1970’s!! ) but started supporting them when I did a programme called ‘Palace Chatback’ for a local Cable TV channel in the late 1980’s/ early 90’s! We’re not doing so well at the moment. Thanks also for your kind words re my dad.
    love Julia x

Hello Jean I’m so glad that I was able to be there for you and hope things have improved for you now? It does seem strange that ‘my babies’ are so grown up – even they look at their baby pictures and can’t believe it’s them.
    Much love

    Hello Mags
On behalf of all presenters and models thanks for your compliments. You have a good memory as Jo hasn’t been on QVC for years. I think I’m right in saying she started her own Model Agency and her girls (and boys) are sometimes used on GMTV and This Morning
