Pipa in the rain

I seem to be getting a bit wet of late…

It’s bucketing down as I type (hence the pic under my Lulu Guinness brolly!!). However, yesterday was utterly gorgeous and perfect as we had planned to sneak a spa day in which was such a treat!!

I didn’t have a Decleor facial this time around as I usually do, instead I had a dry floatation tank experience which I’ve had once before and absolutely loved! It isn’t offered in too many places so when I saw it on the menu I jumped at the chance. It’s like lying on top of and slightly encased in a balloon of very warm water, you become completely weightless and it is unbelievably relaxing!

The rest of the time, Brian and I mooched from the steam room to the sauna, into the hydrotherapy pool and out again … and then we came across the “bucket shower”.

In the Bucket Shower

In the Bucket Shower

We heard about the bucket shower and I thought it was some swish terminology for some exotic type or shape of shower. I didn’t expect it to actually BE a bucket! Then to my horror realised that it was ice cold water inside and you had to pull the lever to dump it on your own head. Obviously this wasn’t mandatory but it was clearly going to be an experience not to be denied. Suffice to say I did it just the once!

So, spa day aside, thank you SOO much for all the entries into the competition to win the Laura Geller set – I’ve had a hoot reading through your replies!! There were over 1,000 entries which was amazing and yes the answer was correct every time, I dropped my phone down the loo… again!

I loved reading all your similar stories … mop buckets, washing machines and plenty of other loos, I am clearly in great company :-) Huge congratulations to Charles Moore who won. I’m not sure Charles if it will be for you or for you to give as a gift, but I hope it brings much happiness to whoever uses it!

Lots of love to you all and see you soon. We are off for a day in London… come rain or shine we’ll be there!

Pipa xx

    Hi Pippa
Loving your lunchtime show today with Dale.!! I’m with you on the “Housewife” pillowcase issue. I have a suggestion..Plain pillowcase, and “Hotel style” for the ones that have the flat edge. Such an annoying description I agree totally.
We are all strong women and it was great to see the lovely Joan Collins agreeing with you too… Go Pippa!

Hi Sandy, thanks for your message …don’t worry about feeling scatty, you’re absolutely in the right place!! The top I wore that I think you are referring to is a Biba top. Currently it’s not in stock on QVC although there are others from Biba. Fingers crossed you find one xx
