Well it's the most romantic day of the year tomorrow, and I'm wondering what have you got planned? Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately (depends how you look at it!), my partner Chris is at work so no candlelit dinner for me! Maybe he took the gig deliberately as payback for a Valentine's Day a few years ago…
It was when Crystal Palace were still in the Premier League (no cheeky comments please!) and we had a fixture against Arsenal at Highbury – on Valentine's night. I'd managed to get hold of three tickets and although Sophie wasn't a big football fan, she'd asked to come along in the hope of meeting Freddie Ljungberg. Of course Daniel wanted to go too, so poor old Chris had to stay at home!
We decided to make a night of it with a meal before the game. It was a bit surreal as the restaurant was full of couples and all the tables had red roses on them!
Palace lost – no surprise there – but the Palace fans never lost heart, or their voices, even though we got trounced. Thankfully Palace aren't playing this Valentine's Day!
Let me know if you've celebrated Valentine's Day in an unusual place – I'd love to hear your stories!
See you soon,
