How shall I wear my hair for our gorgeous Honora TSV?

Honora pearl bracelets in Sugar I have more great news for your! You know Ralph Rossini of Honora Pearls, the ever youthful, tanned and terribly charming guest from New York? He’s taking part in our New York shopping spree this week, and will be here with the perfect solution to Christmas present problems for the girls… “when in doubt, buy pearls!!” And not just any pearls either!

Tomorrow's TSV is two sets of five bracelets in a winning combination of celebrated and charismatic colours – four you’ve never seen before, made from 7-8mm ring pearls. My favourite! And these pearls are taken from the top 3% of all cultured pearls at a price to make you smile. As I know Ralph will… so make sure you join us at midnight on Thursday. And I promise to find out how his lunch date went – be rude not to really 🙂

Honora pearl bracelets in Spice I’m buying both sets – ‘cos if you buy more you save more – so all I’ve got to decide on now is whether to wear my hair up or down!! Or perhaps I should have it cut short again like I did when I was 8..! (that’s me in the middle on Christmas morning).

What do you reckon?

Love Ali xx

I think you look lovely with longer and short hair, but I dont like an upstlyle with the lenght it is. So I say cut it or wear it as you are in the black dress. To be honest I dont think it will matter to Ralph as he is so fond of you anything but a paper bag would please him, he is a sweetie.
Just think of all the veiwers who would like to swap places with you.

Hi Ali, I prefer your hair down as in your middle picture as it makes you look younger but it all depends what sort of dress you will be wearing on the programme. The black dress shown here really complements your colouring. I’m afraid I am a little biased as both my daughters have long strawberry blonde coloured hair which they wear down. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.
    Kind regards

Hi Ali, I loved your hair when it was short, but now that you’ve grown it I think it looks wonderful, so I say leave it long and luscious!

    Hi Ali
I think you should have it cut short. You have a sweet little face and short hair will really show it off. Go on, go for it!

  7. Lynne December 3, 2009 at 8:55 am -  Reply

Wear it up Ali, but keep it long! Lynne, Cardiff

  8. Susan Rogers December 3, 2009 at 9:16 am -  Reply

Hi Ali. Personally I prefer hair down as opposed to up as I think it looks more feminine. You have lovely wavy hair which looks good either way but I would definitely say “down”. Ralph’s pearls would look good on you either way though as they are so beautiful.
Can’t wait to see what he is bringing us tonight now !
    Take care

Alison , however you wear your hair looks superb but I think I preferred it when it was shorter so maybe you could wear it up which would give that shorter look. I am sitting here watching QVC on the telly but writing this on my little Toshiba notebook wearing my Carole Hochman dressing gown and round my neck I have the grey Honora pearls—so you can see I am a huge QVC shopper. Oh just forgot on my left hand is the Anne Klein diamond watch

  10. Irene Stacey December 3, 2009 at 9:23 am -  Reply

Definitely down – shows off your neck & face better AND it makes you look younger…….if up – you look more like a school Ma’am!!

  11. gill graham December 3, 2009 at 9:31 am -  Reply

Well Ali, as usual both styles look beautiful, but for the suave sophisticated Mr Rossini wear it up my dear! It will look f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s and will show case the pearls really well.
Seasons Greetings to you and Ralph
ps don’t have your hair cut short yet!

Hi Alison as much as I love your longer hair now as you really suit having a bit of length in your hair I do love it when you wear it up and I think for your TSV with Ralph you should wear it up and just think how much more it will show off any earrings you will have to wear on the night also:) hope this helps you to decide? lot’s of love Rhona xx

    Hi Ali
I think now you hair is longer it looks lovely, so I say wear it down. If you have it cut short now you may regret it later (I speak from experience!!) Wear it down and you will look great as always.

    Hi Alison
Why not sweep the top layers up and leave some tendrils at the back and sides, to show off the beautiful earrings which Ralph will no doubt be bringing. However you choose to style it, I am sure you will look great. Looking forward to the Honora shows. I wonder if you know whether a particular bracelet I saw some time ago is coming back into stock. It is white and looks like several rows of pearls combined into a 3D effect stretch bracelet. Stunning, and I was so disappointed to miss out on it when it aired previously. Wishing you and yours all the best.

    Hi Ali
I think wearing your hair down (middle photo) will show off Ralph’s pearls perfectly. You always look elegant, with a figure to die for, but please don’t cut your hair Ali, you look lovely as you are.
Happy Christmas to you and your family.
    Love, Carol

Hi Ali, What a lot of comments have been posted (just to confuse you a little more).Your hair at the moment is lovely. However, I have to admit I loved your short style, really suited your face shape. You always look so elegant. Lucky you wearing all those gorgeous pearls from Ralph. Have a lovely Christmas with your Family.

Why do presenters have such long fringes? Most have lovely eyes and a shorter fringe would show them off more…. and look more elegant. I like your hair down with a bit of curl!

Up, up, up. I saw your hair this way recently and thought how lovely you looked. On balance I think I prefer it short so maybe that’s why I think up, it shows off your lovely face shape.

Keep it longer. It’s much more flattering. The short style is too severe and makes you look older.
~How about some plum slices? To compliment your warm sparkling personality.
Lucky you, working with that gorgeous Ralph!

Marg, I am so sorry not to have replied before, but I have lost all electronic contact with the world, which has meant I’m having to bring my lap top into work! Cripes i didn’t realise how ghastly that photo of me with hair was, but I took your advice and wore it down… and yes I know there are MANY women who would have liked to swap places with me 🙂 Enoy the rest of his shows. My friend Suzanne’s daughter Amy has a similar colour and it’s so pretty…. mine is thanks to my colourist! Hope you have a good weekend, and as you may have seen last night, I took your advice and wore my hair down. Love Ali x

Ali – a woman after my own heart. I too liked my hair short but the general concencus amongst my friends here is that they prefer it long…! It was pretty easy to look after short though but a little chilly around the neck in winter 🙂 thanks for taking the time out. Love Ali xx

Heidi thank you for giving my your answer – just so sorry not to have replied prior to the show, but have lost all internet at home so brought laptop into work!! Yes thanks to my hairdresser and Ojon my hair is in pretty good condition. It does seem to grow a lot faster the older I get though, so needs to be trimmed every 4 to 5 weeks! Thanks for your tips about the lavender and yes Sam is continuing to get better 🙂 Love Ali x

Christine, how very kind of you 🙂 Simon Biagi is the only other person here who has always said he prefers my hair short… I like to keep my ears hidden though. My dear old Dad used to call me jug handles!! Have a good weekend, and maybe next year for the big birthday I’ll reach for the scissors. Ali x

Lynne, – I think your answer is why I do keep it long. Because then I can have the best of both worlds – wear it up to look shorter and then have it long to keep my neck warm and make me feel feminine. Thank you so much for joining in. Lovely to hear from you Ali xx

Hope you found something you liked in the Honora hours and I promise I will wear my hair up another time. Had to do the honourable thing and wear it down as there were more votes! Have a great weekend, Love Ali x

Rhona, as you probably guessed was 11 to 8 for me to wear it down, although I was having a bad hair night and had so much spray on that when I hooked it over my ear to show my earrings it kind of stuck there!!! Hope all’s well with you, love Ali x

Mandy, my stylist said exactly the same thing. I may well regret it… do it in stages. The same advice given when I said I wanted to be a red head! Sorry you regretted it. Massaging your scalp makes your hair grow quicker, so our Natalie who modelled last night told me. Have a great weekend, Love ali x

Carol, thank you for your huge compliment! It’s all thanks to clever camera work and slim n’ lift! I will take heed though and leave my hair at its current length as it allows me to wear it up or down! Variety is the spice of life after all. I’m sure you look lovely too, and thank you so much for taking time out to write. Love Ali xx

Mary, it’s the tendrils I have trouble with!!! I tried borrowing Kathy’s hot curling thing, but I didn’t do very well with it 🙂 Still, it’s nice to have the choice, so I’ll leave it long, but make sure I wear it up regularly too. Merry Christmas Mary, and thanks for writing. Love ali x

Anne, thank you so much for using the word ‘elegant’ 🙂 My nana always said to me if I kept my hair short I would be more elegant as I got older….Her hair was always short and she had great elegance and deportment! I too am quite happy with the length it is at the moment so must make a note to self to keep it trimmed! Do hope all’s well with you, love ali x

Hi Lucy, Your comments are regularly echoed by our senior director Paul, who is ALWAYS asking me to move my fringe out of my eyes. I do try and glue it in place with hairspray, but once I start to fiddle with it, it flops! I did wear my hair down as you suggested and have now trimmed my fringe so hope that pleases 🙂 Love Alix

Bless you Judy, so sorry that more people preferred it down, but I will wear it up again soon, as I rather like it too, particularly when I’m presenting jewellery shows. I remember the last time I worked with Ralph when I’d just got back from ibiza and was really brown I wore it up and he said he liked it! Hope you enjoyed the hours with him. Love Ali x

Susan, I agree wholeheartedly. Especially when I looked at the photo I’d sent through with my hair up, this time with my glasses on!!! Not a pretty sight. Plum slices sound wicked! I made a damson tansy once….. Ralph was lovely – never a dull moment with him! Hope all well with you. Love ali x

Thank you LA. Have been pursuaded into keeping it long BUT I will wear it up which gives the appearance of short and allows you all to see my very large ears!!!! (Dad used to call me jug handles :)… Classy is something though I’m delighted to own….Thank you love ali xx

Lin I’m still blushing 🙂 Thank you, and as I’ve already written to be described as elegant is very flattering. I agree with you about the older you get possibly the shorter the hair – which is why at 40 I had it cut! However, I think now a little longer suits me better – and was really delighted to get so many beautiful pearls to wear – especially the earrings which were lovely. Thank you again for taking time and apologies for the delay in replying but we lost internet connection in the village last week and they’ve only just repaired it! Love Ali x

Rhona, I will take your Alison’s advice – along with many others not even in the profession – and keep it as it is! I too am pleased with the colour though, although I was mortified to find three more grey hairs yesterday! I’m in on Wednesday for the launch and will of course check the post. I do hope you will have given me your address so I can send you a card back!! Love Ali x
