How do you fold fitted sheets?

4

I don’t know about you, but I love to put away the sheets all beautifully folded and pressed. I don’t like ironing much but love doing pillow cases and don’t mind the duvet cover either, because they are so satisfyingly neat. However I hate doing fitted sheets! How on earth can you make them look folded OR neat?

I am a real lover of Northern Nights and all the beds in my home are clad in them; as too is my body (as I made some shirts from spare duvet covers I bought in our staff shop). When I was doing a show with Susie Adams the other day, we talked about these frustrating deep pocketed fitted sheets. I love the way they fit on the bed but they frustrate my Virgo neatness in my attempts to fold them!

Does anyone out there have any tips as I can’t for the life of me get it right? I did hear about a Folding Wand that we sell on QVC, but haven’t yet tried it. The reviews make me think there’s a bit of a knack so I’ll have to investigate further.

Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Well here goes!
You put bottom corners inside the top corners. The top corners are the correct way out and the bottom corners are inside out. (Or the other way around, it doesn’t matter).
You then take left corners and put then into the right corners, one side is the correct way round and the other side effectively inside out (or simply different to the other corners).
You them lay what is now a quarter of a sheet on a table or the floor and you fold in the top edge and then the lower edge, so you now have a smaller quarter. Next fold the longest edge back on itself, making an eighth the original size and then fold that another 2 times across the shorter width to make a neat oblong. Hey presto! I do hope that is clearer than mud.

Wow, Eleanor! Thank you for that exhaustive description! If I’m honest I’m not totally sure that I have got it….. So I’m off to get a sheet out and put it to the test!
    Thanks again!
