My 'Liz Earle' bathroom After cooking on Easter Sunday I did get the cupboard painted and I'm now delighted to say the decorating is finished. My newly decorated chimney breast

As promised a few blogs ago here are the pictures of the 'Liz Earle' bathroom (left) and the red chimney breast in the lounge (right) - what do you think??

With the house finished I turned my attention to tidying up the garden and discovered that two blue tits were doing a bit of home refurbishment in our bird house.

This is about the 5th consecutive year we've had blue tits nesting in there, and I was just wondering if any of you ornithologists out there can tell me ……………… will it be the same birds?? ………. or is that a silly question?

Speak soon

Julia xx

Hi Julia,my you have been busy!.The bathroom,is looking fab, and yes the one red wall is enough by far, to my not so daring mind!!haha..I live in a suffolk barn, style of house,(black boarding and some red brick)therefore, I can’t be as imaginative as you with your lovely colours!but I have enjoyed your updates with it all…and I’m so glad you asked the question re: the birds, as we have been here all of 15 months now, and this is the second year the little tits have been back. When the box was attached to the tree last year, we were so surprised to see them showing an interest within half and hour!..so like you, we’re wondering if they are the same family or pair. Therefore, I’ll keep popping back, to see if you have an answer.Fingers crossed then!
By for now Julia, and best wishes.

    hi Julia
Paint jobs look great. I must confess to not finishing all my paint work…When we moved in the hall way was a bright salmon pink, plain but a bit too pinky for our liking. So I decided to tone it down and am painting it a soft linen colour-only problem is it needs 3 coats to cover up the salmon! As for birds, I dont know but would be interesting to find out. We have a variety of birds here from blue tits to pheasants and partirdges. Am hoping to see the young game birds, let us know how the birds get on.
    Take care

    Hi Julia
Well done on the decorating. I love the bathroom, it looks so fresh and bright. Your red wall looks very warm and friendly. I wish I had your dedication – I started re-decorating a couple of years ago but when the roller jumped off its handle and bounced down the stairs it was the last straw for me – I’m afraid decorating just isn’t for me but the stair-carpet has certainly served as a conversation piece. Bye the way I loved your show with Simon last night – I passed on Marco’s latest sacking just to watch the pair of you because you’re such good company esp when you’re together. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share how you manage to get your upper arms to look so fab!! The body buff stuff by TOVA accentuated how well toned your arms (and decollete) are. Congratulations… how’r you doing it??

    Hi Julia
I have just been reading your blog and may be able to answer your question. I am no expert, but, have heard that Blue Tits never stray far from where they were born, so, it is highly likely that the Blue Tits in your nesting box actually hatched there themselves a couple of years ago. Nice thought isn’t it. Hope this helps.
By the way you are my favourite female presenter – a natural in front of the camera, always professional and you look stunning!
I especially like it when you present with Dale, so I enjoyed the Gem Day Finale last night.
I also love the fact that when presenting fashion shows you always explain what size you are wearing and how it fits, which I find really helpful when deciding what size to order for myself.
    Keep up the good work!

Hi girls, still no takers on the blue tits BUT I’m going to ask my nephew who runs the Bird Observatory on FairIsle – he should know!!!!! So Lynda check this space in a couple of days and I should have an answer. Thanks for the comments on the colourscheme …….. I think? Your house sounds lovely. Hi Ann, yes the paintjob has worked out really well – I’m just glad it’s all finished. I have a visual image of the bright Salmon walls – UGH! Glad you enjoyed the Butler and Wilson show Clare and now you’ve found my blog thanks to Simon! I’ll try and think of something more glamorous than decorating or football to write about next week! The following week it will be the Pink concert – I’m really looking forward to it!
Lesley your stair carpet sounds intriguing!!!!!! I’m so pleased you were dedicated enough to watch us rather than Marco – brilliant. OK, upper arms (and thanks for the compliment) – Pilates! I don’t like to work too much with weights ‘cos I don’t want bulky muscles, so it genuinely IS my Pilates machine. We have the TSV this weekend so tune in Saturday midnight for some tips from Marjolein. I also swim, but mostly in the Summer. I wouldn’t be suprised if all the decorating hasn’t helped too

    Hello Gillian,
I was just imagining Christmas in your house if the Boxing Day fixture was the local derby!!!!!!!! Thanks for the ‘good luck’ for Sunday although don’t hold your breath as Palace haven’t been great this season, and our Manager Neil Warnock is a self-confessed ‘Blades’ fan – should make for an interesting game though as so much rests on the outcome with regard to the automatic promotion place.( not for Palace obviously!)
Thanks for the compliments about my home – I’m just so pleased the decorating is FINISHED!!!!!! Do you have a favourite fashion range??
Come on you Eagles – love Julia x

    Hi Julia
Blue tits can com back to a previous nesting site (can be to the general demise of natural nesting places) but after 5yrs this wouldn’t be the same pair. I have consulted the bird experts as we are keen bird watchers about this and they say it may be a pair would return for the first year (maybe 2) but as one dies the other could be back with another mate using the same nesting site but very unlikely after 5yrs to have the original pair.

Hello girls, at last some answers about the blue tits. Actually I haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks, I hope they’re OK.
Linda I wasn’t ignoring you, I must have missed your message last time I checked this blog. Thanks for your view on the blue tits – I like to think they’ve come back cos it was cosy for them before!!!!!!!!! Glad you enjoyed the Gem Day finale, I always like to work with Dale, we seem to have a good rapport. Also your comments re the fashion shows – always try to be as much help as I can, cos it’s difficult buying fashion if you’re new to a brand. Kathleen you seem to have a differing view on the blue tits, and I must confess I haven’t actually checked with my nephew yet – it’s on my list of things to do.
So Gill Neil Warnock did the decent thing and put out probably our best available side – not that we were that great apart from our ‘keeper’ Julian Speroni who was BRILLIANT and I also love Clint Hill, he’s so committed. Casual and Co is a good choice, well made and keen prices. See you next season (come on Preston!)
Hi Bev maybe I don’t need to consult my nephew after all – you seem to have done the research for me – thankyou. I’ll keep you all posted if I hear the babies and see mum and dad flying endless trips with juicy treats in their beaks.
    Speak soon
