We spoke to Louise and Corinne, two sisters who are the brains (and beauty) behind the brand…
Why did you start The Camouflage Company?
It all started in the country when Corinne, rather than looking out of the window at green blobs, decided she had to find some lightweight, attractive covers that would protect her furniture from the rain, snails, slime and worse.
She searched everywhere to find what she was looking for – trawling through the internet she saw there was nothing available – she then had her 'eureka moment' and The Camouflage Company was born! The idea being, why not photograph a meadow in bloom and evergreen ivy, then print them onto waterproof material.
What inspires you?
Camouflaging eyesores – it's a kind of alchemy – turning something ugly into something beautiful!
What makes you different from other brands?
We stylishly replace carrier bags, supermarket bags, boxes, hold-alls and rigid plastic boxes! After all every home needs a bag and a box!
What is your favorite item and why?
That's a tricky one!
Louise: I couldnt live without my Space Savers, foldaway waste paper basket and wellie bags (both coming out for the November show) and the umbrella stand!
Corinne: I love all the bags (Chic Shopper and Paniers), boxes and foldaway trays.
Which celebrity home would you like to see your products in?
The Queen! She does a fair bit of car travel so we reckon boxes and carriers would do very well in the back of the Royal boot. We also reckon Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt because they're always moving home – they could probably do with some chic Camouflage carriers and storage products to help them out!
