Pictures from the wonderful wedding

Rachel's Scottish wedding Hi there,

It seems like my niece Rachel's Scottish wedding was absolutely months ago now, but in fact it's only been three weeks! Apologies for the delaying in posting this picture, but I didn't get a chance before I went on holiday.

The photo is of my sister and her husband and their five children (one of whom is Rachel, the bride) and her new husband, of course. As I mentioned before, all the menfolk wore kilts, so I was very thankful that it wasn't windy!!!

We were so lucky with the weather too. We arrived in Pitlochry the day before in perfect summer weather, but the morning of the wedding the skies turned grey and we had light showers. Fortunately, by the time we went outside in the hotel grounds, the sun was shining brightly – in fact it was only during the evening reception that the heavens opened, accompanied by incredible thunder and lightning.

It was really good to have all the family together for such a happy occasion. There was lots of Scottish dancing and my lasting memory of the night is of Rachel looking like a princess in her wedding dress, jigging around with a pint of lager in her hand! And I was still on duty – Daniel and I had our photo taken with one of the guests who's an avid QVC fan!

The next day we had some time to kill, so we decided to detour to Bridge of Allen, where I lived for some time with my sister. Not only did we catch up with the bride and groom again, we also bumped into my sister and her husband. It seems we all fancied the same trip down memory lane!

Did I mention that I bough the happy couple the luxurious Northern Nights 500 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding set as a wedding present? They were chuffed to bits with it. If you're on the look out for another fab Northern Nights TSV, then be sure to tune in tonight at midnight…

Till next time,
Julia. xx.

    Hi Julia
Judging by the pics it looks like good looks run in the family.
That area of Scotland is fantastic. I used to go up there a lot when I was younger and My Dad and I used to go hillwalking.
How unusual for the weather to be OK in Scotland. As I write this the heavens have just opened and it’s absolutely chucking it down!
Take care… Great read again x – Liked your comment too about the girls and Steven! Glad you appreciate me Ha ha

Hello Steven and the girls ( thought I’d give you top billing this time Steven!! )- glad you liked the wedding photo …. I’m not on it cos I was holding the camera. If I can find anyone else in the family who pointed a camera at me I’ll post it next time. I actually wore a Ronni Nichole dress – I love the range, can’t wait for the next show!
Hi Christine, I spoke to Simon Wilson on Friday (he missed his shows due to ill health, but he is on the mend) and asked him about the new book being on Ebay – he said it is possible as it is available to buy from his shop – as you mentioned we have it for the Anniversary shows on the 12th and 13th August. Glad you enjoy the blogs – I’m about to pen my latest one …….. ROUNDERS – we was robbed!!
Heh Steven, thanks for the comment about the good looks – I should have put up a picture of my Mum, she looked fabulous and she’s 83 next month. I also omitted to mention that after dropping her at Edinburgh Airport with another niece for her flight back to Nottingham, we went into Edinburgh as I wanted my son Daniel to see the castle and Princes Street. Not only is Princes Street not at its best just now cos of all the roadworks (is it a tram system?) but it also bucketed it down. Daniel still insisted on stopping at Murrayfield for a quick photo.
Hi Margaret – like you I think I had forgotten just how beautiful parts of Scotland are. I will pass on your good wishes to Rachel and Rob. Thanks for your comments about my honesty on the products – I do try to be as accurate as possible, even if something isn’t to my personal taste.
Eileen, you see enough of me on the telly – but if I can locate a picture I will post it up. Sophie is rather taken with her soldier boyfriend, he’s thoughtful and kind, but I don’t think wedding bells are in the air just yet it’s only been 9 months. So pleased your back is a lot better and have a great time in Donegal.

Ha Ha Thanks for giving me top billing Julia!! Princes St is an absolute nightmare at the moment. Great for trying to get to work – honestley! You really couldn’t make it up. Also I don’t think a lot of people actually want the Trams in the first place which seems ludicrous to me.
Anyway don’t start me moaning – I’ve been listening to my Dad too long!
Hope you are good. I’e caught a couple of your shows lately and your tan is still doing you proud

    Hi Julia,
Lovely photo, and the family resemblance is so clear.
I enjoyed scotland alot. A friend of ours got married in St Andrews and to visit and stay there was great. We had fish n chips on the coast-it was a little windy!!!
Anyway, glad Simon Wilson is on the mend. I cant spend as much as I did on QVC but budget has tightend up-which is soooo annoying. However fingers n toes crossed let hope that the sun shines, money flows and I can get ordering…esp the beauty n jewellery dept!
    Take care

    Hi Julia
Pitlochry is not that far from me. Beautiful place for a wedding. I think kilts are beautiful at a wedding.
Looks like it was a lovely day and the bride and family are beautiful.
    Love Julie

Hi Folks thanks for all your comments. Patricia I wore a Ronnie Nicholl dress that I wore on air with Uri Geller last Thursday. He took a picture of us together after the show which I will post tomorrow (you can only see the top of the dress though!)
Steven if it makes you feel any better the people of Croydon (which is my nearest big town) didn’t want trams either BUT now the tramlink is really well used. It’s just a pain while all the roads are up.
Hi Ann, I haven’t been to St. Andrew’s but my brother goes there sometimes to play golf and he agrees it’s beautiful. I know what you mean about watching the pennies, I’ve certainly become more aware of what I’m spending, which is not a bad thing, but I still treat myself occassionally ….. I bought the clickfree TSV yesterday and took advantage of the easy payments! You should get a money box for small coins that you won’t miss too much so that you’ll be able to treat yourself on Simon’s Anniversary.
Hello Julie, lucky you living near Pitlochry it’s stunning. We went for a walk the morning of the wedding across the dam and by the Festival Theatre – very impressive! The kilts looked great, but I don’t think my 4 year old nephew Ythan (who is GORGEOUS) agreed with you, he took his off within an hour of the ceremony finishing!!!!!!!!

    Hi Dawn
Only just saw your post ……… That Shaun gets everywhere, I was just recording it for posterity (and evidence!). There were actually 3 shauns missing from the second picture – the other 2 were not so obvious!
    much love
    Julia xx
