I'm back after a couple of weeks off and raring to go. We were planning to get away for half term but never quite managed it. We managed a couple of day trips and the kids had various activities to attend so it was a 'stay home' break.
My wife Tracey had planned a 'tidy up the garden week' for me but fortunately it didn’t stop raining and not much was tidied up! Upon my return to QVC I was greeted with a box outside my dressing room and a note from our lovely presenter manager asking me to 'test drive' the camera within (left).
She knows me well – I love trying out new home electronic products and, in particular, I love playing around with cameras.
The camera in question is Today's Special Value, the CASIO Exilim FH-25. It’s a wonderful bridge camera – this isn’t jargon – it literally sits bridging the gap between compact digital cameras and digital SLRs.
It has a whopping 20x optical zoom, which you can see from the photos of my garden (left and below again but zoomed in) - they're taken through a closed window! The camera can also record fabulous high definition movies in widescreen and with sound!
As you’d expect from Casio it’s literally packed with features, and if you’re thinking of replacing your current camera, or were disappointed with last year’s holiday piccies, I would encourage you to take a look at this one.
There is a particular feature that I loved and tried out on Toby. 'Continuous Shooting' allows you to take 40 high quality shots in the blink of an eye. This is brilliant when used to capture moving images – whether it be my Beardie Toby, my son Jack playing Rugby or my daughter Alex dancing.
You can record videos and upload them to YouTube, plus it's fully automatic, but you can opt to tinker around with the shutter speed and focus etc.
Since I had the camera, I just couldn’t resist taking another pic of Toby either (below).
You can catch Today's Special Value online now, or throughout the day on QVC TV.
