I’m off for a few days break away from The Q and will return bright and early on The Morning Show of the 12th September.
It’s lovely for Tracey and I to spend time with Ali and Jack before they go back to uni to start their second year.
I’ll hopefully get some photo opportunities and will share any half decent ones with you. It’s funny as you try and progress with wildlife photography. First you’re just happy that you have your subject in the frame, no matter how small or distant, then you try and get closer to see more detail and focus, then you attempt to create a more pleasing composition, rather than just a snapshot.
That’s kind of where I am at the moment – I’ve achieved some reasonably sharp close ups of wildlife, mostly birds, snakes and lizards, but the hard part is introducing that into it’s natural habitat and making a “picture”.
No doubt I’ll spend many years trying to get there and will enjoy every minute of the journey even if I never reach my destination!
The second is a beautiful Goldfinch – I do have a closer shot but, as above I’m trying to create more of a picture? Looking at the picture warms and lifts me (particularly when it’s raining).
I’m sorry that we don’t publish very high resolution pictures in our blogs, but hopefully you’ll get a flavour of the original.
If there any fellow photographers, amateur or professional, I’d love any tips or suggestions. Feel free to leave a comment below – please be kind
Anyway, I hope we have good weather that lasts well into September and hope you enjoyed a great summer!
Until next time stay happy and well composed !
