Cycling in Cornwall and a L’Occitane sneak peak

Jackie on a bikeHi all,

So, summer finally gets going and I've been loving the weather over the past week or so. The joys of working odd shifts is that sometimes you get a few days off midweek.

This week hubby took a couple of days holiday so we were both off together. We zoomed down to Cornwall to have a quick catch up with some family and also to cycle the Camel Trail.

Have any of you done it? It's a fabulous, 18-mile recreational trail for cyclists, runners and walkers that runs between Padstow and Wenfordbridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin. It takes you through some beautiful Cornish countryside, from stunning coastal paths to forest tracks.

Of course, as 18 miles wasn't enough for us (why, I ask myself?!) we decided to do it both ways and somehow managed to get a bit lost in Bodmin.

By the end of the day we had covered 44 miles in total, slightly more than planned! It was great, but if I ever tell you I'm off on a long cycle again, could somebody please remind me to either get padded cycling shorts or a softer saddle. OUCH is all I'm saying…!

Scone jam and creamWe certainly earned a little (careful) sit down at the halfway point, with a Cornish essential, a cream tea. Never did a scone with cream and jam taste so good. Well, two scones actually.

Hope you're enjoying Beauty Month on QVC. We've had some fantastic shows already with lots more to come. Did you hear that our lovely Leighton Denny has been awarded an MBE for services to the nail and beauty industries?

Not bad for a lad who started his working life as a fork-lift truck driver. We're all chuffed to bits for him. I have a show with him and the lovely Nina on Thursday 26th June so am looking forward to congratulating him in person then.

OPI COCA COLASpeaking of nails, I'm delighted to be presenting an OPI show on Saturday 21st June, which will see the launch of an exciting collaboration with The Coca-Cola Company.

Several of the most well-known drinks – including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Sprite and Fanta – will be the inspiration for a line of limited edition nail colours.

Something very different and I reckon they'll fly out- so don't miss the show!

TSV L'OccitaneStaying with beauty- L'Occitane fans, brace yourselves! There is an amazing Today's Special Value coming up on Sunday 22nd June - here is a little sneaky photo!

Looks fabulous, doesn't it? Let me know what you're loving about Beauty Month – you can always get in touch by leaving a comment under this blog or by saying hello on Twitter (I'm @jackiekabler). See you soon!

Love, Jackie x

    Hi Jackie,
After a gorgeous day working in the garden (really too hot but not complaining!) flicked on to QVC to see you with DARK hair!!
You looked AMAZING and really suited the look. I assumed later, you had obviously popped a dark wig on!
Have you ever considered dark hair or have you always been a blonde?
Would make a great change as you are fortunate to suit both colours!
    Best wishes, Irene

    Hi Irene
Yes it was a wig – but actually that was pretty much my natural colour, I am naturally very dark and didnt go blonde until my late twenties! Not sure I would go that dark again any time soon, but never say never!
    Enjoy the sunshine!

    Hi Jackie,
Wow you did well on your cycle ride, you certainly did some miles. Yes the countryside down there is lovely isn’t it. You cannot go all that way and not have a cream tea, well deserved after all that cycling.
The dark wig really suited you, I fancy it gave you more of a colour.
I have been enjoying beauty month, lots of great things. Did get the Decleor TSV, I love their products.
    Don’t work to hard.

    Hello Jackie,
I just wanted to say that your style of presenting is like a breath of fresh air….. extremely informative, very natural but with a good sensse of humour. It was a pleasure listening to your hour of clearance bags just now. Don’t change, you are great.
hope you are able to get your cat sooooooooooooon.

    Hi Jean,
Yes Cornwall is really beautiful, I love it there. Wearing the wig was fun, reminded me of my teens and twenties when I had my natural hair colour which was almost the same! Enjoy the rest of the month – let’s hope the sun keeps shining, eh!

    Hi Chris
Thank you, very kind! Oh I really really want a cat but hubby and I are both away from home so much it just wouldn’t be fair – maybe when we retire, sob!
    Love Jackie x
