It’s been a busy few weeks since my last blog – still no closer to summer though, is it? This weather is getting a little ridiculous now.
My husband and I escaped to France for a few days in search of some sunshine, and even there we were doomed to failure – it rained, torrentially and non-stop, from the minute we arrived to the minute we left four days later.
We still had a lovely time, but it would have been nice to have lunch outside a café in the sun once or twice instead of inside, peering out at the rain!
We went to one fantastic, Michelin-starred restaurant in Beaune, where as well as the amazing food there was some fairly, shall we say “unusual”, artwork (pictured above) which was right next to our table! We couldn’t work out if it actually WAS art, or a handy spoon storage device. It was certainly a talking point though!
We arrived back just as the dreadful events in Woolwich were unfolding. After working in news for 20 years, I’ve covered my fair share of unpleasant stories, but this one was so horrific that I almost wished I hadn’t watched the news coverage.
Yet another thing though that makes you realise how short and precious life is, and how you never, ever know when something awful is just round the corner. It’s the third anniversary of my sister’s death this week (see previous blog) and every sudden and horrible death I hear of reinforces my view that we really should make the most of every day.
Now – anybody need some new shoes? What a stupid question. We ALWAYS need new shoes! Well, here’s a sneaky peek of some great Skechers (pictured left) which will be ourToday’s Special Value offer on Thursday 6th June.
I’m doing the midnight launch – it’s only my second launch so it’s very exciting! I’ve barely taken them off since I got them to try this week – they are SO comfortable! That’s all I can tell you for now, but do tune in for the launch at midnight on Wednesday if you can!
Have a great week.
