My cruise capsule wardrobe!

Twist detail maxi dress by Ingenue London with Clarks wedge sandalsHello again!

As I told you last week, it took no time at all to say yes when I was asked whether I'd like to fly to Dubai to board the Cunard Queen Elizabeth for a couple of days. It was to check out the cruise ship for our new Imagine Cruising holiday shows, which started yesterday and continue every Tuesday in May, and also on QVC Extra.

But then came the troublesome part – what to wear?

Packing for a holiday is always the worst part for me (except, perhaps, the laundry on our return!). However, the buying team at QVC fashion came to my rescue – with our new summer fashion styles ready for you, we've picked a few pieces that make up the perfect Cruise Capsule Wardrobe.

Indeed, these clothes would work for any holiday, as going away gives us the perfect excuse to dress up a little. Dresses, in fact, are the simplest way to stay looking cool and gorgeous, so I've included a few different styles. But separates have their place too, with cropped cotton trousers being the perfect way to show off your ankles but not too much leg!

I was photographed in each outfit when I got home – just click on an image to get a closer look.

Designers like Ronen Chen combine natural fibres and flowing shapes to give effortless elegance and comfort, and there's nowhere better to look than new-to-QVC Amita Naithani for the essential 'relax on board ship' kaftan.

But my favourite of all is the gorgeous sunset print dress from Ingenue that I'm wearing in the clip above and the photo at the top. Even on the most relaxed cruise you'll want at least one dress that makes you feel special, and this one does it for me!

There are a couple of items that are on their way but not quite ready to order just yet, but keeping checking our website – they won't be long and might be showing as 'Out of Stock' until we've got them ready for shipping to customers. You can shop for most of the items straight away though:

And then it might be the question: which came first, the cruise or the wardrobe? If you have the outfits, maybe it's time to pick the holiday to show them off! Don't miss Imagine Cruising next week at 4pm on Tuesday.

Take care, Kathy x

Hi Kathy the long silver necklace you are wearing with your long blue maxi dress, is this an item from Bibi Bijoux that isn’t in stock yet? You look amazing in everything by the way, FAB.
    Thank you.
    Dawn.

We have never been on a cruise, but maybe after seeing these show’s we might give it a try, and yes it is difficult choosing what clothes to take away with you on holiday, like many i’m sure we alway’s take to much. !
Take care hope to see you on many more show’s.

    Hi Kathryn
Thanks for your comment, I glad you enjoyed watching the cruise shows. I have to say, I enjoyed helping to make them! The final three holidays will be shown next Tuesday at 2pm so have a look to see whether one of them is the one for you!
    Best wishes

    Hi Dawn
The necklace is from Bibi Bijoux and it is old rather than new. It will be in stock again soon, I hope – if not, then something similar. I prefer the long length necklaces – although they cost a bit more I think the shape they create is more flattering than one that sits higher on the neckline.
I hope you find one that you like.
    Best wishes

    Hi Debbie
Don’t worry toy haven’t missed it – it hasn’t been on sale yet – it’s coming up on Morning Style next Wednesday. It’s from the Latte range, item number 121313. It says on our website that it’s sold out but that’s because it isn’t yet ready for us to send to you – keep looking as it should be available to buy in the next few days.
    Hope you like it!
    Best wishes
    Kathy
