It all started on Tuesday when I was working with Lulu, who's just lovely. I'd been reading her biography in preparation for the show and it's mind-boggling to think how long and successful her career has been, and how many famous people she's rubbed shoulders with, yet she's stayed so down to earth.
Later that evening I ended up presenting a health and fitness hour (a bit of a quick change to the schedule). It was a bit weird 'cos my son Daniel was on the show as one of the models – cheeky monkey says he prefers working with Julian!!!
Imagine my surprise when I walked into the guest lounge and came face to face with my former hairdresser Marcus. Can I just say at this point that he's no longer my hairdresser as he left Aveda to become the manager at the Harrod's salon, otherwise I'd still be going to him. Anyway, it turns out he was in the building to guest some products from The Big Brush Company, and if he says they're good then they must be! It was great to catch up with him again.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday it was the Butler & Wilson 14th Anniversary shows – I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. Did you see the T-shirt with Simon's photo done in sequins? And how about the cake? I don't know where he got the picture from but what a brilliant idea to put it on the cake! For those of you who were wondering, it was strawberries and cream, and as Alison Young can verify, it was delicious!
Thursday was also my Mum's birthday. She spent it with my sister up in Scotland but we said 'hi' to her on air – I hope she was watching! She was 83 and I think she looks fabulous, as you can see from this photo I took of her at Rachel's wedding last month.
She puts it down to being active – she still teaches dancing – and to Liz Earle's skincare. As a treat we got her a big bag of Liz's products, though she hasn't tried the new eye cream yet. Keep watching on Thursday as it's the first chance you'll have to treat yourself to it too!
And then of course we had Fashion Day AND Gold Day… all in all a great week!
Hope you enjoyed it all too – do drop me a line and let me know what your highlights of the week were.
Till next time,
