Well after all the planning and organising for Christmas we find ourselves in a new year, wondering what it may bring, whilst trying not to break our well-intentioned New Year’s Resolutions – made dare I say it with a little help from a glass or two of bubbly!
As you may have seen, I spent New Year’s Eve at The Q with Ali Keenan, presenting the last two hours of the year reviewing our ‘Best Bits’ – a blend of our top products and guests and one or two Bloopers (in case you were wondering). I managed to get home around 12.45 and spent the next hour or so with my family as we saw in the New Year together, albeit an hour later than most!
In my last blog, I joked about Ellie not bothering with the rather enticing and chewable decorations that suddenly appeared in her world. Well, to be fair to her she was generally very good – although she did destroy one wrapped present under the tree that my son had received prior to Christmas. (We didn’t notice until we found a £10 note in her bed!) I think a bauble also “got it” one afternoon when she was left alone in the living room for a while! All in all for a teething pup – pretty good!
‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’
It’s no surprise that we expect the weather to get a lot colder in the next couple of months! QVC is ready for it, and we’ll be offering great ideas to combat the cold – in fact tonight at midnight tonight, I’ll be launching our ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’ event led by the fabulous offer from Northern Nights. Egyptian Cotton Heavy weight Flannel – our Today’s Special Value for Thursday.
The 100% Egyptian brushed cotton, duvet set is so soft, luxurious and cosseting (unlike the old flannel of old) and is at an amazing price (under £50 for the Double size) – be sure to catch it early at midnight tonight (Wednesday 7th). That’s if you want to avoid “sheet shock” as Northern Nights guest, Sam Doubledee likes to call it – in other words it’s invitingly cosy as soon as you slip beneath the duvet cover and fitted sheets!
This Polka Dot Reversible Duvet set is available in a choice of four colour options: Natural for a soft subtle and restful effect, Grey for an on trend neutral, Green to transition through all the seasons and Lavender to add a pop of colour. We chose the Grey option and it blended in well with our neutral colour scheme, obviously as its reversible you can play around with it.
On Friday at 4pm, I’ll be joined by the lovely Amanda Lamb and her great range of Travel bags. The show features a stylish and very affordable range of Weekenders, Totes and Handbags for a variety of journeys. Amanda’s bags are great choice if you’re travelling light or if you have errands to run.
Win big with ‘Woman’ magazine and Diamonique
Before Christmas, I worked with lovely Andrea McLean as we presented her gorgeous range of Diamonique Jewellery. That night we were also joined by ‘Woman Magazine’s journalist, Chloe Thomas, who wrote this feature in ‘Woman’ magazine after she appeared on the show as a model, having chosen her own favourites from our line-up to wear.
Chloe was natural and very comfortable in front of the cameras and seemed to really enjoy her visit to Q Towers. ‘Woman’ magazine are currently running a competition where you could win £500 of Diamonique Jewellety!
I received much ‘banter’ from my family, as Chloe referred to me as a “veteran” QVC presenter.
Well this is just the first of many blogs this year and I hope you can join me.
I’m always pleased to hear from you in the comments section below.
So until next time, stay safe and warm as ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’!
