Happy new year!

Catherine's catSo, this is my first blog for this brand new year. Christmas seems a long time ago now the decorations have all been taken down and my mobile phone ringtone is back to its normal ring – it was set to Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas'!

If you were tuned in to QVC during the Christmas week you will have noticed I spent most of that week at 'QVC Towers'. There's always a great atmosphere here at Christmas and, in return for working so much over that week, I was given the following week off for New Year celebrations.

Catherine's christmasI hope you had a great time over Christmas and New Year, too. I know it can be a mixed blessing as we, inevitably, miss those no longer with us even more acutely at this time of year. I took a few quiet moments to remember absent friends and toast their memory. I sincerely hope your festive time gave you some wonderful moments to smile about.

I spent time with family and friends. New Year's Eve was a friends fancy dress party. I opted for a gingerbread woman costume as I left it till the last minute to find something! Enjoyed a New Year's Day pyjama party with some other friends, too.

I also spent a lot of time with Thorntons chocolates! I gave lots as gifts but was delightfully surprised to receive plenty too!

My plan is to get through all the naughty leftover food and drink in January and then get back on my AeroPilates machine and Catherine with her catkick start my healthier phase with Diet Chef. Sometimes it's best not to put too much pressure on yourself to start everything off on the 1st of January.

I'm wishing you a happy, healthy and laughter filled 2014 and look forward to keeping in touch throughout the year.

Love Catherine xxx

    HI Catherine
Is that your beautiful cat sat by the window. I am glad you had time off to celebrate with your family and friends over Christmas. Yes it is always a time when you miss your friends and close family, I always miss my Mum, I miss her every day but even more at Christmas.
Have all your Thornton’s gone now, I still have some left, they are the best aren’t they.
Don’t work to hard, I don’t know about you but I never seem to get any me time. Must make sure I do, more time out and about with the dog’s and more cuddles with the cats.
A very happy New Year to you and your family.
    Love Jean XX

    Hi catherine,
Great to read you had such a good Xmas and new year despite being at qvc, it was lovely for me that you were on so much as I spent a lot of time in your company. Also noticed on a diamonique show you had an orange dress on that I own. Have had mine quite a few years now but love it, and it looked great on you.
You really do brighten up my days when you are on air and I enjoyed the fashion hours. Hope you may get to do more of the dressing room show you presented before Xmas.
Great to see the photos of the beauty bash and your stunning dress! I imagine it is great fun!
I have to stop now as my kitten Elsa comes and lies across me in front of the I-pad, as if to say- that’s long enough on there, it’s my time now!!
Take care lots of love Diane xx

    Hello dear Jean,
Thanks for your comments. I’m so sorry to hear your mum is no longer here, I’m sure her memory lives on in your heart and all the treasured times that you hold close forever.
The cat in the window is my Pixie. She is a sweetheart. Fast asleep at my feet right now, actually! Purrrr…
I still have a few choccies left over from Christmas, can you believe? Mind you, we did have quite a lot. Gradually working through them all, though. Tough job but someone has to do it.
I do hope you’re managing to get a little more you time this year. It’s good to recharge the batteries even if its just a candlelit bath every now and again.
Big hugs to you and your pets,
    Catherine xx

    Dearest Diane,
Your posts are always so lovely to read. I do hope you are doing well and that 2014 is treating you kindly.
It sounds as though Elsa is keeping you busy. What a lovely name…I bet she’s utterly gorgeous! I’m watching my Pixie snooze at my feet just now. Not a care in the world. How nice it must be to sleep so soundly and never an alarm clock to wake them!
Take good care and much love and hugs to you and sweet Elsa,

Hi Catherine, What a lovely photo of your cat, almost thought it was a triple ornament in the window!.
You are so like my youngest daughter Liz when it comes to worrying about what you eat and she like you goes up a couple of kilos in winter and sheds it again in the spring. I say to her she’s gorgeous inside and out and you are too.
Don’t be so tough on yourself.
Also thank you for your kind words about my eldest daughter Jan who completed her chemotherapy before Xmas.. She put several kilos on with the steroid side effects and she is now losing the extra weight. She is using her Pilates machine that you sell on qvc, a great, great buy, We highly recommend.
Plus I purchase SBC aloe Vera and Lavender bath/ shower from qvc for after exercise relief of her aches.
So good results hopefully in 2014.
Take good care, love and best wishes, Tricia .

    Dearest Tricia,
Very humbling to read your message. My goodness. If Jan can feel motivated to get up and do her Pilates then why on Earth do I drag my heels about doing my exercise…inspirational.
You sound like an absolutely lovely mum. You say and do all the right things. I bet they simply adore you.
Much love to you and your family xxx
