Belated Happy New Year! I think I have been in a bit of a daze since Christmas. I hope you all had a lovely time over the festive period. I know sometimes it's not always an easy time as sometimes we perhaps think a little more about those who are no longer with us but I do hope a good time was had by all.
We had a lovely day at my sister's house. She is the perfect host. We even had a snow machine, which made it feel very festive. On New Year's Eve we went to see the film of the same name, which was all about New Year's Eve in New York and the 'ball drop', which has now made me want to go to New York. Has anyone ever witnessed the ball drop in Time Square? I'd love to know if you have.
Anyway so far so good this year, apart from that I ran into the mother and toddler sign post in the supermarket! The kids thought it was so funny, like something out of a cartoon and were laughing hysterically. The thing was, it was hailing and I'd pulled my hood down, so I obviously couldn't see where I was running and just went splat! I was actually quite stunned, desperately trying to look ok!
I do think January is a very odd month. It's quite easy to get the post-festive blues. I'm sure I probably said the same last year but it is very difficult to get going again. Maybe we should just grab January by the horns, embrace the winter and teat ourselves a few times just to see it through.
