Happy New Year!

4

Well, it’s a brand shiny new year and this is my first blog of 2017. It’s also my first blog in quite a while so no prizes for guessing what my New Year’s resolution is! More blogs, more news and more updates from Planet Huntley.

Now, back to you…how are you? Was Christmas busy or quiet for you? Did you celebrate at home, spoilt by family members or did you, perhaps, decide to go to a local restaurant as a special treat? With no washing up to do I can see the appeal of the latter! How about New Year’s Eve? Was it a peaceful, civilised affair or did you dance til dawn under a sky full of fireworks?

CHristmas dinner

Me? A pretty quiet one, really. I’m a bit of a homebody when it comes to Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I love having people pop in and out late Christmas morning whilst I’m preparing the dinner with a glass of fizz on the go. I had the Green Seasons meat hamper Today’s Special Value this year (as I’ve had for several years) and it went down a treat, as always.

I was working on New Year’s Eve and Day so had a very quiet one at home playing board games and watching good old Jools Holland. I toasted the new year and went to bed by 1am. I know, party animal, eh?

The cats got into the festive spirit (somewhat willingly) as you can see here! They’re such little sweethearts and put up with my crazy love of all things Christmas!

My Yankee Candles are always on the go but I particularly love getting all the Christmas ones out. I was gifted a brand new, large jar of my favourite fragrance, Cherries on Snow, and I’m burning it even as I type now. That’s what I love about scents like that, they’re winter aromas rather than being exclusively Christmas-themed. Gorgeous.

I have been working on getting the final big jobs on my house build completed. I never thought it would have taken so long but the finish line is now in sight. I have taken time off over the next couple of weeks to supercharge my efforts on the project so, hopefully, I’ll have a proper housewarming party to plan for before much longer!

I tend to update my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook page regularly so if you don’t already follow me there please do;

I will do my best to stay true to my resolution and keep my blog updated more frequently. I’d love to hear from you so feel free to comment below with your resolutions and news of how your festive season was this year.

Here’s to a great new year for us all! See you soon.

Much love,

Catherine xxx

Hi Catherine….I just love your cats….i have two black and white rescue cats, they are brothers. I love em to bits. Have had them since they were 6 months and, sadly, they are now 11 years and old age is creeping up on them….not to mention ME. Never mind eh…….

Happy New Year Catherine! I always have to watch Jools Holland even if I’m at a house party but this year watched it at home in my PJs with a glass of fizz. Cherries on Snow is my fave, love how you feel the iciness (you know what I mean?)
I’ve started the Body Rescue Plan; on Day 5 but surprisingly had no cravings for chocolate even though we’ve had a box of chocs delivered today! Brilliant, looking forward to week 2 when I can have a few more things. I like the look of the nut bread (how many slices do you have?)
I wanted to ask YOUR advice as you’re down to earth & very honest! Going to London for a weekend next month & wondering what you eat when you go out for a meal in the evening ?
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
    Have a great week
    Love Mandy x
