As its Christmas day tomorrow I wanted to wish you all a very happy Christmas!
Our celebrations will already be well and truly underway as we have my Norwegian wife’s parents with us for a week, and the Norwegian tradition is that we have the big meal and hand out all the presents on the 24th at 5pm. It is also tradition that Santa comes into the house to give everyone their gifts (Who is santa? Ho Ho Ho!).
By this stage we will have already had a big meal of pork ribs, meatcakes and special sausages with red cabbage sauerkraut (mmmm!) washed down with a few Aquavits!
The next day we do it all again with turkey and all the trimmings and more presents from the English Santa (Ho Ho Ho!). After this gastronomic over-indulgence we shall all lie down for a few days and live on soup (turkey of course).
Whatever your plans are, wherever you are and whomever you are with, I hope you have a very happy Christmas.
