Pipa and her husband

Happiness IS sunshine on a Bank Holiday weekend!!

Oh my gosh, how good does it feel to bask in the warmth of the sun at last?? The daffodils my gorgeous husband bought me the other day are bursting with joy as much as we are!

So how was your Easter? We went down to stay with my sister in Horsham for a few days and had a great time. It was the town’s annual ‘Italian Weekend’ and all the Italian collectors’ Super Cars were parked around Horsham town centre on display (Carfax for those of you who know).

Pipa and the two dogsWe had a good old mooch around in the rain and then came home and took the dogs for a walk just as the sun came out – her Bugle puppy Poppy and my lab Tynor are now firm friends!

Easter Sunday arrived and of course the Easter bunny had scattered chocolate everywhere (carefully out of reach of the dogs of course) and then, having had a HUGE roast lamb for lunch, we were rather drowsy driving home so as we drove up the A24, the sun came out and we popped up to Box Hill which has always been a firm favourite of ours.

The children were delighted to be back and to roll down the hill again! We however, were slightly gutted to have missed the cafe opening hours by about three minutes so would have to wait for hot chocolate until another time!

Come Bank Holiday Monday we were utterly exhausted from our travels, however my daughter Beely is doing a Musical Theatre course for a week so we were up early to taxi her around and could not believe the warmth of the sun when it came through the fog.

By the end of the day it was positively roasting, even my Eva Birkenstock flip flops made their first appearance as I took to tidying the garden so we could eat supper outside. Utter joy and great preparation for our little break in Malta which is just eight sleeps away!

Woo hoo, Happy Easter everyone!

Much love,

Pipa x

    Hi Pipa,

Isn’t it amazing how an extra hour of daylight, improving light levels and clear blue skies with a healthy dose of sunshine can transform the way we feel, so dramatically. How wonderful was Monday? Most of the day in the garden preparing it for the promised summer whilst enjoying the daffodils, muscari, ribes and all the birds cranking up the birdsong. Thank goodness for Spring, possibly the happiest season of the year with so much great weather and outdoor living to come.

    Bring it on! :)

Best wishes and hopes for great weather to you and your family.
