Hallowe’en with Bare Escentuals

I'm off for a week, but thought I'd let you see what happened following last week's blogs – with a very memorable Hallowe'en!
First, Lee and SJ's Bare Escentuals Today's Special Value went down a storm and looked really nice on my face, the whole look completed with everything in the kit – apart from mascara. So I thought it'd be an idea to show before and after images. I took off one side of my makeup during the 8pm hour.

Here's the 'before' image without any Bare Escentuals – eeeeek! Well it was Hallowe'en after all.

And here's what the Bare Escentuals Brightening collection can achieve, plus mascara! Can't believe it was only around £40 – in fact, it's such good value, even at a slightly higher price it's worth having a look at.

I was very impressed with the primers and that there's even an eyeliner – that's £12 on its own normally. Highly recommended this kit – helps stop you looking frightening!

Debbie the next morning I did watch it back afterwards and wondered if I made the right decision to show my 'naked' face. What do you think? Did it work? Mind you, the morning after I needed some help – not even the TSV would have saved me.

Not really! As you can see, it's Geoff the producer. Some of the QVC staff were getting into the mood for Hallowe'en, and there was lots of backstage grub – mostly orange! There would have been a few hyperactive people that night I can tell you.

It made a change for me, since the last few years have been quiet. Lauren my daughter and her cousins (she's one of 15) used to all dress up and go trick or treating but she's been at uni the last few years, so my nieces inherited her suitcase full of scary gear. So it made my night to see some of the ghouls behind the scenes!

Geoff our producer was such a good sport – not only for doing this, but also for allowing me to put the pic on here – thanks Geoff! Plus he's the one SJ wanted to come to her desert island paradise list dinner party (see previous blog) – so now you know who she was talking about and why he got a mention!

Did you get up to anything ghoulish on Hallowe'en?

    Hi Debbie,
You are such a great sport!! Reminds me of the lovely Stacey – what ever happened to her?! I agree the make up really suits you. It’s a lovely range & the girls are just so down to earth. Hope you had a nice Halloween. Enjoy your time off & chat soon.

You don’t need makeup, Debbie – you look lovely without it – so natural – Jenny xxx

    Hi Debbie,
Long time admirer of your blog, first time commenter. The brightening collection really worked, though as Sonia above says, you don’t really need it – you look fab anyway 🙂
You asked for eventful Halloween stories and mine is pretty good – me and my boyfriend were invited to a party on the Friday and we couldn’t decide what to go as. We spent about two weeks trying to think of something original when eventually, I got a brainwave – Hugh Hefner and a Playboy bunny.
A bit sexist?! Not at all you see, because I was the Hef and he was the bunny. We managed to make the costume up ourselves, complete with my red bathrobe. At first he was bit nervous in his bobtail, bunny ears and hotpants but eventually (like a good bunnyboy) he did as he was told and we had a great time at the party. All my friends, needless to say, loved the idea.
Anyway, I think we’ll need to make it a regular thing – he fills out those hot pants rather well if I do say so myself.

Susan, Sonya, Jenny, Gaynor – thanks so much ladies ! *blushes*!!
We’re all the same, really, just good hair, good telly tart make-up and excellent lighting help make us look good on air! lol
    Appreciate your opinions tho!

Elisabeth – your boyfriend sounds right game for a laugh! Good for you guys!
My funniest fancy dress was when partner and I went as ‘Frankenstein and Mir’ – he was the obvious and I wore a tin foil space station on my head! lol
(probably said this elsewhere but it’s still funny!)
All Lauren’s old suitcase full of Hallowe’en stuff was made good use of by my lovely neice Lara and her little sis Issy – glad it found a good home! Nothing as scary as Geoff above tho!
