Halloween, Bonfire night and our upcoming Big Brand Day

Catherine and MikeyHi all,

Well we're now only about six weeks away from Christmas! The time goes so fast once we get past Halloween and Bonfire Night. I've been shopping for Christmas with QVC already but you can bet I'll still end up chasing my tail nearer the time! Always a mad scramble no matter how prepared you are.

Chris in the programmeBack to Halloween for a moment, though. Many of you know how much I adore New CID Cosmetics. Make-up artist, Mikey (pictured with me), is now one of my very good friends, and our mutual friend, actor Chris Clynes, was starring in a production of Dracula recently so a few of us went along to see him perform on Halloween night (here's a shot of his page from the programme, left).

It was incredible! Very atmospheric as it was staged in a very old church in London. There was an after show party where Mikey and I strutted our stuff on the dance floor. Our favourite was the now famous PSY "Whoop em Gangnam style" to which we performed all the moves! It was a very fun night.

Mandy with a sparklerAs Bonfire Night itself was not on a weekend, one of my best friends, Dave, had a party at his house complete with fireworks galore. It was a fun night with lots of great friends and, thanks to my best chum, Mel, it was another chance to change hairstyles! She brought a bag of dress-up wigs with her which transformed all the guests! My other best friend, Mandy (left), was unable to join us for that so we had our own little do in my garden on the real bonfire night. No real fireworks but lots of sparklers. We enjoyed ourselves!

This Sunday is Big Brand Day on QVC! If ever your friends have mocked you for your love of QVC, wrongly thinking it's only about steam cleaners and faux diamonds, tell them to tune in on Sunday and they'll see what we're all about, with brands such as Bobbi Brown, Fenn Wright Manson, Breil Watches, Lulu Guinness, Vax and even Apple electronics! I'll be on from 9am so I hope you can join me for some fab Christmas shopping.

Keep well and warm (slankets are a must now the chill is in the air)

Love, Catherine xxx

    Dear Catherine
You do realise that now you’ve confessed to your “Gangnam Style” prowess, you’re going to have to prove it on air, don’t you? If Katherine Jenkins can do it – as she did on Jonathan Ross on Saturday – then so can you, lady! I was also thinking that you’d make a great Miss Moneypenny if they revive the part in the next Bond film. I think I’m going to have to wrap up this Christmas, as it’ll be the first I’ve spent over here since my folks moved to Spain. They’re coming over to stay with my younger brother so they can see the grandchildren. It’s monstrously exepensive to pay for the four of them to fly to Spain at Christmas. At least we’ll all be together for a change.
Love Chris xxxx (you get an x-tra “x” just this once!)

    Hi Chris!
Apologies for missing your post on here! Hmmm, gangnam style on QVC? Hee hee, maybe…
It really has got soooo cold now. Spain sounds like a lovely place to spend Christmas. I guess you’ll just have to wrap up as warm as possible and perhaps feed yourself up on a few extra festive treats to keep you warm. Any excuse for me, there’s festive coffees all over the place just now. Gingerbread latte’s are a personal favourite of mine and highly recommended!
Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas!
    Love Catherine x
