Philip Kingsley shares his tips for healthy-looking hair

Philip Kingsley

Philip Kingsley is showcasing another fabulous Today's Special Value, which addresses embarrassing dandruff and an itchy scalp to help bring your hair back to its crowning glory.

Here's the expert himself, Philip Kingsley (left), with his tips for healthy-looking hair…

Step 1 – Use a pre-shampoo treatment regularly

Depending on the length and condition of your hair, use a pre-shampoo treatment like Elasticizer once a week. Elasticizer is suitable for ALL hair types and is a highly concentrated pre-shampoo treatment that improves bounce and shine in all hair textures. Because it is applied before washing and conditioning, it does not weigh down the hair and can help to prevent long-term breakage.

Step 2 – Wash and condition hair daily

Philip Kingsley haircare collection The primary and most simple way to healthy-looking hair and scalp is to wash and condition daily. Think how dirty your face gets by the end of a day – and you take your hair to the same places. When left for three to four days, the scalp can become flaky, itchy and uncomfortable with a mild tenderness. The hair itself will be dull (although probably greasy), lank and, above all, drab-looking.

Flaky Itchy Shampoo
is suitable for ALL hair types as its light formula leaves no residue or build up, just beautifully cleansed scalp and hair. The formula is pH neutral (pH 7 – the same as water) and is paraben free so it is incredibly mild. Combined with this is Flaky Itchy Shampoo’s effectiveness in creating a totally anti-microbial environment on the scalp. Therefore not only will it help eliminate any flaking, continued use will also help prevent further episodes. Finally, its light apple fragrance is totally allergen free so it can even be used diluted on children and infants.

Moisture Balancing Conditioner is suitable for a majority of hair textures including fine/coloured or fine/long hair as well as medium textured wavy hair. This best-selling conditioner offers amazing de-tangling and conditioning properties and is also anti-static. Containing Elastin, Moisture Balancing Conditioner helps build strength and stretchm, and helps to prevent breakage.

Step 3 – Use a Scalp Toner Daily

Using a Scalp Toner daily helps you create the healthiest possible environment for the scalp. Flaky Itchy Scalp Toner is anti-bacterial and anti-irritant leaving the scalp comforted and refreshed.

This water-based formula is clear and odourless and leaves no residue so will not affect the style of your hair. Used in conjunction with Flaky Itchy Shampoo, Scalp Toner promotes a healthy scalp and healthy hair growth. To be applied after conditioning to wet hair, or throughout the day on dry hair to help relieve itching and freshen your scalp.

Dear Philip, please please can you help me with my very itchy scalp. My doctor has prescribed me steroid lotion to apply to my scalp as it feels like it is on fire & is very itchy, very red & very sore and very uncomfortable to live with. I have dry skin and very dry hair, I have tried just about every hair cleanser & shampoo on the market.
I have ordered the TSV today with great hopes of this changing my life forever…
Anything else you can advise with?
