Next week you’ll see me sporting curly tresses again. I alternate between that hair do and my straight do. Just taking a short break from my extensions, because if I leave them in too long, my own hair underneath is prone to damage. In fact, it’s the curly look I have in the blog photo and also in this video when Will and I had a good old natter back in September whilst I was rehearsing for my first shows! Can you believe it’s been 7 weeks now?? There’ve been over 6,000 hits on this. Yikes!!

The art of goatee growing
And speaking of hair, get a look at this. A close up of Austen’s goatee. We thought we’d make a contribution, for personal reasons, to Movember. Growing a moustache in aid of Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer and Mental Health is a superb idea to raise awareness of the cancers which can strike at any age. So for the last few weeks, Austen’s been crafting this Robert Downey Jr/Tony Stark/'Iron Man' look for a while. In all the years I’ve known Austen I’ve never seen him with a beard. I think it looks fab. What do you think?
You might have read somewhere that I’m a big fan of beer. In fact I’m a Beer Sommelier (someone whose taken and passed exams on their beer knowledge). I’ve conducted beer tastings on shows like This Morning and also The Alan Titchmarsh Sshow!
So I thought I’d show you a pic of a cheeky little beer I had a few sips of last night. It’s as dark as Guinness, but slightly sweeter, this one was also a lot less bitter (because not all beers are bitter!) and it’s brewed with fresh raspberries so it had a sharp and sour kick to it too. It would be the perfect compliment to a chocolate tart or even a cheesecake topped with fresh raspberries and a good dollop of chocolate ice-cream. The stout’s brewed by the adorable guys at Thornbridge Brewery (based in the Peak District in Derbyshire). The big surprise was when I tweeted this picture last night, all my beer fans turned cartwheels in excitement, asking me where they could get it and how they could try it. So that got me thinking about compiling my Top Ten Christmas Beers List for you – I’ve done it the last few years but I’m going to share it with you too, so you can go hunt down some lovely bits and bobs for yourself and your Significant Other, if you like.
Last week Alison Young and I filmed some videos for our QVC Beauty Channel (Sky channel 658, Freesat channel 816 and Freeview channel 35) discussing some of the make-up, skin and haircare lines you can buy from us which are suitable for darker skin tones, and also for non-European hair types and textures. So we answered questions posed by QVC viewers about hydrating and moisturising darker Mediterranean, Asian and African-Caribbean skin tones, as well as chatting about any viewers who are of dual heritage whose hair needs more moisture or is prone to frizzinesss. Philip Kingsley's Elasticiser Extreme is something I'm going to be trying on my relaxed hair, in the few weeks I'm resting my hair from extensions.
