Hawaiian Affair PG Version- Hawaiian affair PG version – 99p for limited time only – complete eBook of my first novel!

- Red Carpet Manicure TSV on 23rd & win a set worth £165!

- How to self-publish your own book – Emily Harvale’s success story

- Kindle comes to QVC on 25th – plus video guide on Kindle apps

- Designer Antthony comes to town once more – with a preview of my Mother of the Groom dress!

IT’S HERE ON AMAZON AT LAST – 99p complete eBook of Hawaiian Affair – in PG version!

Well I promised you, and here it is – Hawaiian Affair, non-steamy – for all those who wanted a PG, ‘close the bedroom door’ version – and for a short time, it’s on Amazon at just 99p.

Do go here to get my first romance novel – in PG option – and tell me what you think of it!

Five star reviews hit 114 (out of 124 across all the options) – here’s one of the latest:

“This book is an amazing read. The characters are so believable and you get thrown into this world of romance of hot, steamy and naughty but nice fiction. A must read for your holiday in the sun – lying on your sun lounger with your cocktail and sunscreen. What more could you ask for!”

So do go get it, if you’ve been waiting for it to be released – the PG version – containing all four instalments – is just 99p for a limited time only (they’re currently 77p or more each).

Plus, I’ve also been able to bring down the steamy eBook version to just £2.02.

And for some strange reason I can never fathom (do you know why they do it?) Amazon have just also reduced my steamy paperback to £6.92. (PG version of paperback is due out in October).

Back of bookFor those who are not aware, my first ever romance novel was self-published on Amazon in May/June this year, serialised into four parts, and the response has been fantastic.

It did take me three years to write and ages to work out this self-publishing lark! But people seem to like it so I’m very proud. If you want to find out more about self-publishing, see below.

NB if you still want the steamy version it’s here.

PREQUEL - And meanwhile, I’m hard at work, penning the PREQUEL – so my second novel shouldn’t be too far away.

It’s actually set in the years leading up to Sadie’s incredible trip to Hawaii – and how she beat the odds to achieve her heart’s desires – coming up against some pretty determined characters in the process! It’s good fun and I do dream that one day I’ll be a proper writer – when I’m a grown up…!

See below for RiWiSi feature, for more about self-publishing.

RED CARPET MANICURE – TH/FRIDAY TSV!

RCM autumn colours RCM summer colours

Ok, it’s also finally here! And with a massive following already on QVC, Red Carpet Manicure is back with me and sis Linda Bignell.

From midnight on Thursday 22nd, and through Friday, the new Today’s Special Value is another bumper set with LED light and a choice of options – with the fab colours I’ve been plugging the last couple of weeks.

You can choose between the bright summer or sophisticated autumn collections. Included in the autumn classic set, the dark red I’ve been wearing for a while on air.

One of the things I love about this long lasting gel manicure system is that it really covers up the imperfections in my own nails,  dries instantly under the lamp, and lasts for weeks on end.

See my thumbnail which got damaged about ten years ago and never grows up evenly?

Look at it with and without RCM protection – you’d never know what was underneath the LED gel coat of armour would you?

ANTTHONY HITS THE AIRWAVES ONCE MORE

Debbie with AntthonyAs many of you regulars will know, one of my favourite QVC pals is designer Antthony.

He only comes to QVC UK once every two months, so his clothes are usually in demand and this visit was no exception.

Lovely Antthony is also sorting out my Mother of the Groom dress for my son’s wedding in October – it’s a beautiful ‘two-fer’ (jacket attached to dress) and he’s getting it made for me in a lovely deep aubergine fabric.

His clothing suits me so much, I just love it – so why pay a fortune for an outfit when I have the perfect designer with the miracle touch on my doorstep?

Can’t wait to see the finished article! We had lots of fun on air, here’s one clip.

But this one made me laugh most – with his attempts at being British! He’s back in October.

[Having trouble viewing this video? See YouTube's Help page]

P.S. – if you noticed the lovely man being a bit less effervescent than usual at first it was due to the recent bereavement of a dear friend of his. He was soon back on form though, in true Antthony fashion.

Our wishes go out to him and I hope his visit to us helped to take his mind off things. What a trooper.

Still to come – hilarious facebook funny statue pics, and QVC teasers galore!

Emily HarvaleI’ve had a big focus on self-publishing this week for obvious reasons, so how about me giving you the full low down on how to get started, from the author who has mentored me?

Her name is Emily Harvale and she’s doing a guest blog on my RiWiSi page on my website, debbieflint.com.

In an in-depth summary, which you can download from my website, you’ll learn what’s involved in getting your own work up online, and other fab info about self-publishing and the world of books.

PLUS a comp to win a signed copy of one of her books! You will find out:

Book of the Week

Texts from DogMeanwhile since we’ve had a doggy theme lately, I thought I’d make this week’s Book of the Week ‘Texts from Dog’.

Since I last featured these regular funnies appearing on Tumblr I’ve been keeping up to date on the hilarious antics of ‘Dog’ and his owner.

Well now you can get someone a present of the best of the ‘texts’ – an unusual gift for the person who has everything – including a dog! Lol.

And in the light of QVC selling Kindles for the first time this Sunday, from now on I will feature a little freebie or cheapie each week in this segment, so do come back!

How to read ebooks without a Kindle – download the app! (But if you want a Kindle – see QVC News below!)

Well as I promised last week here’s a little ‘how to’ video, helping to show those who are unskilled at computing and all things hi-tech, exactly how to get a kindle app onto a smart-device – and thanks to pal Craigy for helping me record it in the presenters’ lounge!

There’s more info on my website…

BLOOPER

Doggy delights and canine capers galore in the fab pampered pets show last week. Loved Zeus sharing the show opening with me – he stole it naturally! (click here) Here’s another reminder of the funny blooper from one of the guests, talking about the doggy harness! Tee hee!

SNIPPETS

How old are your ears video– How old are your ears?! Saw this doing the rounds and thought I just had to show it to you! What can you hear? If it’s only the first of the sounds, do try again on earphones!

Let me know – don’t forget to say what age you actually are! Go here to take the test.

Brad's meal– Went to Brad and Kari’s with mum and sis and nephew Dean for a lovely dinner in the week – Brad and Kari did us proud.

They eat healthily like I try to, and their piece de resistance had to be the pudding – a chocolate mousse made with avocado!

Debbie's lilies- So, the end of the presenter lily challenge is in sight (results announced Monday 26th 9am show)! Despite all of us being given the same bulbs planter and soil on the same day back in May, we got different results.

Mine eventually came out and bloomed well, how do you think I'll do?!

Combi- End of an era! My daughter Lauren loved the Volkswagen camper vans – still does – so I was sad to read this week that they are to cease production of the ‘combi’ camper after 56 years…

Guess it’ll become even more expensive to hire one after this! More here

- And finally – a hilarious list of Facebook funnies to make you smile: Statue poses! Do take a look at these if you have the time – they’re a real giggle! How creative! Click here to see all of the pics!

(P.S. also worth a view – search ‘The Boy Who Lived Before – Extraordinary People’ on YouTube – a two year old boy’s story of his past life on Barra, off the coast of Scotland – impossible to make it up – it’s fascinating! Remarkable coincidences? Or have you come across similar tales?)

Loving the new RCM colours but it would be great to have a TSV without a lamp for the many customers who already have one… or two! :-) Hoping there are going to be some new sets available to add to my expanding collection. X

    Hi Debbie
Thanks for letting viewers know about Antthony – I was wondering what was wrong. He was so, soooo subdued and we couldn’t fathom what the matter was and really felt for Jackie Kabler during her show with him. The girl deserves a medal for getting through it and so, it appears, does lovely Antthony himself.
Good wishes are being sent his way.

    Debbie
The passing of lovely Amica and (I now know) Beulah really brings home how fragile – and fleeting – life is, and I have adopted two new ‘mottos’ as a result.
One: live life NOW. Don’t do what I tend to do – plan for tomorrow, next week, next year etc. If you want to do something, buy something, go somewhere DO IT NOW. I’ve always wanted to go to Sweden (been toying with it on/off for years) – went and booked it today.
Two: try a new TiFFT (Try it For The First Time) each month and you’ll never guess what mine was today??!!! A life-long fan of 80’s music, Al Green, George Michael, INXS, Tamla Motown (in all its guises) I was in a music store in Southport today (hello to all the friendly people there) and heard the most melodic acoustic guitar sessions playing over the tannoy, accompanied by a really soulful voice which had me spellbound. I was literally riveted to the spot.
I asked the Assistant who it was, and was struck dumb by the response. Playing an old David Bowie track (originally sung by Lulu) called ‘The Man Who Sold The World’ (one of my all-time faves) in an acoustic set was none other than Nirvana! Yes, you read that right – Nirvana. The album is called ‘Nirvana Unplugged) and is now playing on my stereo – my TiFFT for August – and it’s opened a new window of music in my life. Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be buying, at the age of 56, a Nirvana CD but it just shows you – change one thing in your life and a new vista opens before you.
A motto for us all, perhaps?
    Best wishes
    Susanne F

Hope your Lilies win on Monday – I will have to record the programme as 9am is too early for me!! I think a Debbie Lily would be good!

Got ya PG book for 99p. As i said b4 not my usual genre but wanted to read it cos its your 1st book. Read part of the first chapter and i like your style, humourus (dunno if thats the correct spelling). Im liking the Kindle app too. Seems to work well for me being visually impaired.
The Kindle Fire HD looks gud but id rather have a larger tablet cos I got a Galaxy which is 5″ anyway.
Thanks for the self publishing info. Will refer back to this blog and follow the link when i get chance.
Thanx for explaining why Antthony was so subdued I did wonder and Im afraid I couldnt watch much of that show. It upsets me to see some1 sad. I caught a later show of hia tho and he seemed much better.
Did I miss it or did u announce the winner of the Liz Earle comp?
Also if u r ok with it, it would be awesome if u shared your writing process with us via your blog. How u plan, what inspires you, how you draft etc.

Hello, loving the blog and I would love to win RED CARPET NAIL set, I had twin girls 6 months ago and never have time to relax, paint my nails and wait for them to dry. I saw this set on QVC and thought how fab it would be to have dry nails straight after painting…perfect! Being a new mum always on the go I love chilling with a cuppa and watching QVC! Xxx

Hi Debbie. I would like to be entered into your red carpet competition please. Been looking at it for sometime, haven’t ordered yet because I seem to be alergic to some gels. Hope these are different.

Agree more RCM products without lamp would be great, quite expensive and difficult to obtain locally so a TSV or one time only would be fab.
Can I be entered into the RCM competition please.

Hello! Please can I be entered in the red carpet competition? My mum recently got the QVC set and its so good I need one in my life too! Thanks so much, I’ll keep my fingers firmly crossed! Emma xx

Hi Debbie – first time I’ve looked at the presenter blogs, and I was so shocked to learn of the passing of Amica and Beulah – both very beautiful ladies, I will miss their beautiful smiles, also didn’t manage to catch up with the reason for Anttony not being his usual self, hope everything is ok with him. Is it too late to be considered for the Red Carpet Nails competition? – would make a great present for my mum for….. well, just ‘cos she’s my mum!

    Hi Debs
Loving Red Carpet Manicure! I have so many compliments on the way my nails look and people always ask where I get them done – they are so shocked when I tell them I do them myself and they tell me how professional they look!
Unfortunately it’s costing me a small fortune because I have become addicted to buying the colours – not just for me but for my daughter. I would love to win the TSV set in the RCM competition so that we don’t have to share the one lamp and have have the option do our nails together.
Loving all the new colours but just can’t decide what to buy next. Could QVC sell some more colours and perhaps do some TSV colour sets in future shows?
    Thanks x

Hi Debbie, I would like to win the competition as I really like experimenting with my nails. I have lots of OPI and Nails Inc polishes including the crackle and magnetic polishes, but would like to try something new. I really like the idea of the Red Carpet Manicure and think that your nails always look really good when you are on air.
    Kind regards
    Emma

    Hi Debbie!
I am fairly new to QVC but I’ve been tuning in for years through my mum and big sis. The red carpet manicure was just an offer I couldn’t refuse-the colours are all fab (I didn’t decide which option to pick until last minute when I was actually on the phone placing my order!!)
I can’t wait for it to come and to give it a try, yours and Linda’s demonstration was really helpful and I feel a lot more confident about putting it on correctly as I am a first timer to gel polish so thank you both!
I would love to be placed in the competetion draw please!
Can’t wait to see you both (hopefully) next time RCM are on air
    Katie x

Red Carpet Manicure is brilliant. No more chipping and peeling – it comes off when I want it to. Could do with more colours – perhaps in a TSV? Please enter me in the competition. Thanks

Hello Debbie, please enter me into your RCM competition. I always seem to be in a trance when I watch the demos, surely you can’t really scratch your car keys across it? I would love to try the system out. Also was totally amazed at the transformation to your thumb as one of my toenails is a bit dodgey too! I never usually have a pedicure because I am always kneeling while gardening or cleaning out my rabbits, so this will be amazing!
