I’m not just talking about food, either! I am thrilled to have an entire hour with Evolve beauty this Thursday at 8pm. Their products are all handmade by artisans in the Hertfordshire studio and some even have chocolate in them… but more about that later.
Since trying a vegan diet for a month back in January I haven’t looked back and am now a completely plant-based eater. I’ve tried all sorts of things so far. Some healthy and some just good old fashioned junk food such as pizza and sweets. Just as you can have unhealthy carnivores, there are unhealthy vegans, yet the reverse is also true. There are healthy meat eaters and healthy vegans, too. I’ve decided to get my healthier habits back in check over the last couple of weeks and have already shed a few pounds in doing so and feel much better already.
I recently ordered Nim’s fruit and vegetable crisps after trying them during a recent Lunchtime Show. Look at this red pepper one which is shaped like a heart! They are simple and healthy. No added salt or fat so don’t expect them to taste like something that comes out of a tube because they won’t but if you’re looking for a healthy way to get one of your five a day then these are great! My fave are the pineapple ones. We don’t currently have them in stock online but keep checking back!
I think you already know that I’m no angel when it comes to treats so I’m allowing myself one day a week to have the less nutritionally virtuous treats such as crisps, chocolate and the occasional pizza or curry. My latest discovery was last Friday at high street noodle bar, Wagamama. I go there fairly regularly for their yummy noodle bowls but when I heard they have just launched a vegan version of their chicken katsu curry I was down at my local faster than you could say chop sticks! I had the gyoza, steamed buns and vegatsu curry.
My eyes were way bigger than my belly and some of it came home with me. It was delish, though. No, this isn’t an ad. They’re not paying me and they don’t even know I’m writing about them on here. I just wanted to share as I’ve had a lot of questions about my new way of eating. I just thought I’d show you it’s not all kale and cabbage, although I honestly love those, too, ha ha!
While I’m at it here’s a pic of my new favourite pizza from Pizza Express, too. Again, if you thought you couldn’t do plant-based, I’m just saying don’t knock it til you’ve tried it. One of my carnivorous colleagues, China, regularly opts for this vegan pizza, too. Ok, ok, I’ll stop it with the food stuff already!
Now, onto a true evolution in beauty. Evolve beauty are a wonderful, home grown, British company who are being embraced by customers here at QVC but are also being taken to the hearts of beauty editors. They are extremely ethical in terms of the sourcing of organically grown ingredients, the 75% biodegradable plastics that they use, their respect for animals, our environment and for their customers.
Their products are all handmade here in the U.K. in a small studio in Hertfordshire. On the packaging you will even see the name of the individual who created your product. A very personal touch which I rather like. I know what you’re thinking, that’s all well and good but does it work? Well, you have a 30 day money back guarantee to try it out and see for yourself but our customers have left high praise in the reviews on our website and, as I mentioned before, some of the most renowned beauty authorities have an awful lot of great things to say about its efficacy.
Having an entire show this Thursday at 8pm is one of my week’s highlights. I’m soooo looking forward to it. If you’ve not met our on air expert guest, Emma Louise Haswell, then you’re in for a treat. She’s a skincare aficionado with many years experience of working with luxury brands and now she is Evolve’s Sales Director. She is extraordinarily passionate about the brand and her knowledge is first class. She’s also my kinda girl. She’s a lot of fun and has some great stories about Evolve to share with us so I hope you can make some time to join us and join in. You can even let me know your thoughts below in the comments section.
