Ok it's a bit late but just wanted to wish you all a happy Chinese New Year! The new year started last Thursday, February 3rd, and we have moved into the Year of the Rabbit from the Year of the Tiger. We celebrated by cooking stir fry and I even bought Dan a bottle of Chinese beer.
My daughter Sophie is a rabbit and I'm hoping this will be a good year for her. In Chinese Astrology, each animal's own birth year is a favourable time for people born under that guiding sign, so fingers crossed. The animal signs work in a twelve year cycle, but the animal sign is also affected by the elements of metal, water, wood, fire or earth. This means for example that you will only get a repeat of the exact same sign every 60 years.
Sophie is a Fire Rabbit, (interestingly I am a Fire Monkey and Daniel is a Fire Tiger so lots of strong opinions in our household… poor Chris!) and I thought I would share some of their characteristics with you… actually very accurate:-)
Outgoing, enthusiastic and bold, they have a tendency to get up and go and have a strongly adventurous streak, which added to Rabbit skills in diplomacy often leads to success in life. They can however be unexpectedly fiery and temperamental in their emotions – oh dear! They are usually good at hiding their emotions under a veneer of real charm but when they choose, can be outspoken in expressing their feelings and preferences. They love fun and good humoured relationships and are very sociable and artistic.
Famous Rabbits include Orson Welles, jazz singer Billie Holiday and playwright Arthur Miller who suprised a lot of people when he married Marilyn Monroe. If you don't mind sharing your date of birth on my blog, I will look up your Chinese sign for you.
Quite a few of you have been asking about my trip to LA for QVC. We are going over there to film in Tinsel Town in the run up to the Oscars so we can get everyone in the UK involved, particularly as there is a big Brit presence in this year's nominations.
We will be sending reports back for the weekend of Red Carpet shows and I will tell you more in next week's blog. I'm going to try and do a video diary for you from LA, which should be interesting with my lack of technological ability!!!!!!!!
