Here we go again!

Cassidy's panto outfitWell it’s panto time again in the Halliday household (“oh yes it is!”), only this year it’s double trouble – not only is my daughter appearing in one but my son is playing saxophone  in the orchestra pit for another pantomime! I have said that this is the last year for Cassidy, who was eleven last week, as it does conflict quite a bit with school. At the moment she either performs a morning show and gets back to school for the afternoon, or starts off at school and leaves at lunchtime for the theatre – and that’s everyday til the 4th of January!

It will a lovely show to end on as this year – not only is she in the junior ensemble, she also plays the young Sleeping a Beauty and has some great lines and a little singing solo, which is really good. I was so proud on opening night. My son’s show starts after Christmas so he is busy rehearsing, plus he has just passed his refereeing exams so is busy blowing his whistle at the weekends now too. If they keep going like this I’ll be able to retire soon!!

Meanwhile Christmas at QVC is as busy as ever. It’s funny because Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier each year and yet there still never seems to be enough time at the end. If you are looking for an inexpensive treat for the girls, OPI have had some fabulous gift sets this year.

My favourite is the Christmas cracker which has been done especially for us. At only £22.50 it contains colour and treatments and is packaged beautifully. It’s just one of those gifts that would work for any age group, especially difficult-to-buy-for teenagers.

Also for the guys you have to try smelling L’Occitane’s De Grasse limited edition Cedre. It is gorgeous and for £34 it includes a shower gel and two different sizes of the aftershave balm. It’s a fragrance that is a little sporty with a citrus edge and a hint of sultry! The men will enjoy using it and the ladies will appreciate it too!

Well, I’m off for a chaperone shift at panto, no doubt I’ll be dancing in the wings! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter @jillyqvc where I’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening on air and I’ll keep suggesting last minute gift ideas!

Happy shopping!
