Hi there,
A few of you posted questions on the blog, I hope my answers help!
This question is from Alison Crawford and is quite a common issue for larger women...
I am a size 20 (22 - 24 in coats and dresses) and I would like to buy a dress for myself but am a good old-fashioned 'apple' with a large chest. I like the look of the Tiana B range but am not sure which dress would be suitable for me, also being a big girl patterns and striped frighten me, and I don't want to look too old fashioned which is what usually happens if I buy from high street stores.
I am so pleased that you like the look of the Tiana B range, I love these dresses. With the dress being a key look this season its well worth buying into this trend, as far as being a full figured girl you shouldn’t be afraid of prints.
What I would suggest is, if you would like to dip your toes into the Tiana B range you could opt for the Tiana B pleated dress (right). It has a splash of colour in the form of embroidery around the neckline which gives you the option to pull out one of the colours to work with your accessories. I suggest you try the 2XL which should be a relaxed comfortable shape on you whilst still being flattering.
Another suggestion would be to bite the bullet and try the Tiana B paisley printed dress. It's a combination of red and black paisley with a black trim around the v-neck, cuffs and hem and will look great teamed with opaque black tights, or to dress it up opt for sheer ones.
Do let me know how you get on Alison.
I have ordered a Centigrade faux fur coat from Monday's evening show on special offer (124613), but unfortunately when it came in a medium it was like a tent on me, even though I am usually a size 14. Would the smallest size fit me or would it be too big? I'm 5ft 7", 35DD, have a 27" waist and 35" hips. Lesley.
Unfortunately I think the small size in the Centigrade coat will still be too big which is a shame as it’s a fab winter warmer. I normally recommend adding around five - six inches to your normal bust size to achieve a good silhouette, so with that in mind I think you should take a look at faux shearling coat (left) - this is one of my favourite Centigrade coats.
It’s a shorter length than the one you initially ordered but will still do the job of keeping you as warm as toast. On the plus side this coat is unbelievably chic and looks extremely expensive especially in the Taupe and Chocolate. Hope this is of help to you.
Love Glen x
