Claudia's Christmas fashion

Hi all,

Claudia and I had a natter about what she will be wearing on Christmas day and what she's hoping appears under the Christmas tree this year...

Glen: What will  you be wearing on Christmas day?

Claudia: I'm going to wear a red strapless satin dress with a little black bolero cardigan over the top. I made the decision ages ago that I'm doing 'glam' this Christmas day as I'm cooking for seven with all the trimmings, and then I'm doing a spread for 17 in the evening. So I figured that if dressed really glam no one will notice if I'm a little stressed!! Great idea hey!?

My family Christmas

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd give you an insight into the Campbell Christmas.

Christmas morning we will be up not too bright and early as the kids will have been playing out the night before, enjoying Christmas spirit.

We exchange presents over bagels, smoked salmon and a glass of bucks fizz as we have done for the last 23 years. Obviously the gifts always involve fashion, most of the time they go down well but I'm sure you’ll agree that choosing the right gift for a fashion-conscious family can be a tricky one.

Then we will have a late Christmas lunch and family TV for the rest of the day. That’s the Campbell way.

Alison and Jilly's Christmas fashion

Hiya,

I caught up with Alison and Jilly and had a chat about Christmas and all things fashion...

Glen: What will you be wearing on Christmas day?

Alison: I'll be wearing my nightie and dressing gown because we open presents first thing. Then I'll put on a bright red cashmere cardigan and a black pencil skirt with high heels (well initially until my feet start to hurt, then slippers!). Oh, and of course my Honora pearls.

Jilly: I'll probably be wearing pyjamas until 12 noon with a bit of luck! Christmas day is always a real relaxing family day so no dressing up required. I'll probably chuck my jeans on when we visit family for Christmas dinner.

Hello Glen, I do have a problem with my Belly. Most of the clothes, are too short and do not cover any belly at all. Same with most Fashion designer's. I'm sure I am not in the minority. Most of the tops for instance are all cut just above the natural Pelvis line. However, with a Belly that's got a mind of its own, whether through operation's loosing weight. We are not catered for very often, so I really don't watch much of the Fashion you bring to Air or any other designer's. It is a shame as the sizes are quite often there, but for the width not the length. Jeanninex

Glen: Kaftans and tunics are perfect for your figure. You need to make sure you get a top that fits well on your shoulders, that is loose towards the base and has a slightly A-line shape. You should have a look at the tunics from Casual & Co and Dreamkeeper. For an on-trend 'layered' look for winter, you could try wearing a polo neck top underneath the tunic.
I'd also recommend control underwear - I think these Slim 'N' Lift high-waisted control pants would work wonders for you.

Answer to your party season fashion question...

Hi Glen,

I am going to my sister's 60th on the 2 January which is in a sort of social club. I am 54, 5'1 and a size 14. I tend to favour black trousers and a top, but would like some inspiration. I am going to the Trafford Centre on Friday.

Hi Bernie,

As an alternative to black trousers and a top, I think you should opt for a black or coloured dress or a black skirt with a coloured top. 

If you go for a black dress or skirt, add a pair of opaque coloured tights. Fern Britton from This Morning is working the coloured tight thing really well, she's looking pretty hot!

My snow day and a new Centigrade coat

Hi everyone,

Last Thursday I woke up to more than six inches of snow! My village came to a halt because of it -  the schools were closed, and only the brave and hardy ventured out in their cars while the rest of the villagers went sledging and walking in the beautiful countryside. 

Coincidentally, I'd brought a new Centigrade coat home for my mum to road test. She looked very stylish, and more importantly she was as warm as toast while the kids were making snowmen. 

Back home for soup and hot toddies, I threw the coat in the washing machine and tumble drier and it came out as good as new! I had to prize it out of my mum's arms before she left.

Claudia's winter style

I had a chat with the lovely Claudia about how she dresses for the colder months...

Glen: How would you describe your winter style?

Claudia: Winter is hard for me to dress for, I tend to feel a bit frumpy.

My biggest tip is to invest in a stylish long black coat. My husband Steven bought me a lovely fitted black wool coat for my birthday. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times I’ve dashed the children off to school looking fairly stylish with my coat and long black boots, only to return home and take off my coat to reveal my pyjamas!!
