Girls Day Out… With some Kinky Boots!

7

Just sending this from our annual presenter lunch, to say Merry Christmas from all of us and me! Lol.

Had another busy week….

Went to see a fab theatre show with mum, sis Linda, and (ex) sis in law Alison on Wednesday afternoon – a proper thigh-slapping, foot-tapping production and highly recommended it is too! Plus find out about the latest Bissell bargain on Christmas Eve to spot-clean your home the easy way.

Watch 1:

Kinky Boots

First, one of many get-togethers this week involved a trip back to London, straight to the Adelphi Theatre in Charing Cross Road for an afternoon of merriment. I must say that one of the actresses in the production was outstanding – she played Lauren and is called DeLaney Westfall – one to watch, I think, especially because of her fantastic performance of ‘History of Wrong Guys’, her key number. Very sparky, I must say. Good songs – written by Cyndi Lauper, some that stood out more than others. Great staging and an energetic ensemble that made you want to dance! Not quite as good as ‘Beautiful’ or ‘Motown’ but enjoyed it a lot. Based on the film about a shoe factory in Northampton which saves itself from closure by filling the niche for Drag Queen boots – very funny. 8/10.

By the way if you’d like some boots of your own, don’t forget I wear Caddy Belle’s from Clarks at QVC, knee high and suede – Lola from Kinky Boots would love them, if they had heels! Also here’s a list of the ones we have online at the moment, and see below for Saturday’s Emu’s Today’s Special Value offer!

This Weekend on QVC

Friday – buy now by clicking here to get your Denim & Co. long sleeved, warm cosy zip up sweater with sleeves, if you are quick! Here’s me in my blue one – hope you saw my launch with lovely Glen Campbell?

SaturdayEmu’s return – with Stingers at an unbelievable price of under a hundred pounds…

Sunday Bissell are back with the SpotClean handheld carpet and upholstery cleaner. Well, I decided to do the mats where the dogs come in and out from the courtyard outside. It’s a tough test, since the mat can’t really go easily in the washing machine. This was the result!

Very pleased. It means I’ll be able to do the dog beds easily too. There’s a sheepskin mat they use too, might be worth a try. Just think how much you’ll be able to clean in your 30-day money back guarantee? Join me and Russ Bristow on Saturday at midnight for our Xmas Eve TSV.

SNIPPETS

NEW QVC FACEBOOK PAGE!

Well it’s set up – more news about it soon, but I’ve begun posting updates there already – ahead of its official launch competition in January. To see it, even if you’re not on Facebook, go here to Debbie Flint QVC Chat (and ‘like’ the page if you are on Facebook!)

Linda’s Birthday Brunch

Well, more of a lunchtime gut-bash to be honest! lol. We more or less filled up one part of the pub in Dorking, even though it was mostly just her and her four siblings, including me! Here’s a pic of when we were about four and five. Now we’re 54 and 55!

Great family times

…and all the more poignant since she was so ill with sepsis earlier in the year. I’m kind of making sure I don’t miss this kind of get together nowadays, for obvious reasons. Life is too short, isn’t it?

Local Devon Ladies’ Lunch

Another nice time this week, when I invited a few pals round down in Devon. We had a super buffet lunch and raised enough to buy some more supplies for Medical Detection Dogs. I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since I moved down there and have made some really good friends, including Wendy, Linda and Sheena who help me look after guests, and my great pal Alix, with whom I’m spending New Year’s Eve this year, in the first Devon NYE December break. Plus yoga pal Jennie and Mary who also helps in the shop. It was so nice to see some people from Sheepwash there as well as super Facebooker friends and others I’ve met in local supermarkets etc. If you see me down there, do come and say hello, and maybe you’ll be coming along to next year’s December lunch!

Book of the Week

Must admit I’ve just started listening to this freebie for the Amazon Echo (whichever one you have – it’s an audio drama currently free for Christmas.) A Christmas Carol with a cast of over 50 voices – very impressive! Just ask Alexa to “read me a Christmas carol” and as long as you’ve got an audible account you will hear the full length story for nothing! Great news. More on my book of the week blog.

Devon Dog Walks

Loving the walks in the fresh air down in Devon at the mo. – here’s me and Mary, Sheena and Linda, some of my best local besties…. And what was I wearing…?

Can you guess my favourite colour?

Green? Naaaahhhh! Lol. Turns out I’d dressed all in burgundy last week! Or all in wine, depending upon which time of day you caught me! Hehe! Centigrade coat, Marla Wynne dress, Caddy Belle boots and also I use a Kipling bag that’s burgundy too. (NB: new edge-to-edge faux suede Centigrade Today’s Special Value this Fri!) Colour du jour! Lol.

Watch 2:

Star Wars VIII The Last Jedi

OK so I enjoyed this film, although I admit to being a bit troubled by recurring visions of Kylo Ren and his brooding-ness and still feel a bit miffed about what he did to his father… Grrr. Daisy wotsit was good again, not enough of John Boyega (also a Brit) and there were some proper laugh out loud moments. Nothing will ever beat Empire Strikes Back for me but this was one of the best, if not the best, of the films made since. 8/10 for me.

Next week’s Highlights

Monday (Christmas Day) – Christopher Fink cosy knit duster under £30! Get ready for the colder nights with this one.

Tuesday (Boxing Day) – Skechers GOwalk 3 with faux fur lining – and get these for your feet whilst you’re at it? And today sees the launch of our Great Winter Sale – get some early bargains here.

Wednesday – am back on air and launching this on Tuesday at midnight – a super new Shark Duo Clean Vac.

Then Thursday is the new SBC 5pc Arnica Heroes set at a super low price, given the massive sizes involved. Friday is the Centigrade edge-to -edge faux suede coatigan and then it’s New Years’ weekend – Charlie Brook and Katy P will be presenting the last two hours of 2017 with a cacophony of Charlie Bears, before we ring in the New Year. It won’t be me hosting, for the first time in years, I’ll be down in Devon celebrating in Belstone – yay!

Next week on the blog

Some festive family pics from my Christmas celebrations, and – Review of the Year 2017. What were your highlights? Let me know and I may be able to mention a few, e.g:

  • Top film?
  • Top book?
  • Top play?
  • Top product/purchase?
  • Top moment on QVC?

I think you might be able to guess which will be getting a mention from me, if you’re a regular! Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below! And do come back to read the look back at 2017 next week.

And watch out for the New Year Facebook Page launch of the new ‘Debbie Flint QVC Chat’ page, with a massive competition! And do join my social media below…

Best wishes

Debs
