Getting ready for all things new…

16

Pipa and her kidsIt CAN'T be nearly two months since my last blog here – where on earth does the time go?! Time for a catch up! Last time I blogged, we were just heading off to Tenerife for ten days of sunshine, togetherness, water fights, food, rest, no technology etc etc and we weren't disappointed!

The weather was beautiful, the resort was great, we met some wonderful people on the plane over who ended up staying in the same place – all in all we had a ball! Both Fiona from Decleor and Abi from Ultrasun had suggested it to me and it's always good to have a recommendation – shame we weren't all there at the same time as I'm sure it would have been even more of a riot!!

Since getting back I hit the ground running like I knew I would. The plan was to go away then return and get the house ready to put on the market – which I did and it went under offer very quickly! In the preparations, I filled a full size skip in three days which I thought was quite impressive – and yet you STILL can't move in the garage!

I was thrilled it went under offer so quickly though because keeping the house spotless for all the viewings was exhausting! I kept trying to get the children to play "pretend the house isn't ours and don't touch anything" – not a chance! That AND having my Aunt over from Tasmania for a couple of weeks meant it was all rather busy to say the least … this is me and my mum at Wisley gardens (picture below) – we took my Aunt there when the sun popped out!!

Pipa and her mum
So, providing all continues to go as planned, we are heading slightly further afield where there is more green than grey (can't vouch for the sky) and space for some more animals (possibly chickens) and adventures! I'll keep you posted on that :)

So, what with selling/moving house, redesigning and building The Raphael Project as well as a new PG website, plus trying to finish my essays for the pgCert (STILL hanging over my head …deadline is the end of this year then I start the rest of the MA) and having family over to stay I suppose it's no surprise that time is whizzing by.

You can see from the last blog to this one how my hair has exploded too!! I'd been straightening it all along and it wasn't until I was on holiday when I let it do it's own natural thing that I discovered how easy it is – I've not had it like this since I was about 17 so had rather forgotten that products today are so much better than in the '80s and '90s!

I've had sooooooooo many tweets recently, thankfully 99.99% kindly commenting about my curls and I for one am chuffed with them as doing my hair now takes no more than two minutes! I just leave it to air dry, or use the Ego hair dryer (I've discovered it is great on curls!) then use Volumising Powder by HER and finish it all off with Percy & Reed hairspray ….fab!

The climate that inspired a hair change

I know some others of you are growing your hair with me – how are you getting on?? I think I might stop at this length! Oh by the way, thanks for all of you who tuned in for my Love Beauty show, it was fast and furious – next time I promise we will include more make up items as I know what we had sold out really quickly.

OK that's it from me, I'm off to sort THE kitchen drawer – you know the one I mean? The one with pens, pencils, old phones, rubber bands, playing cards, old cheque books, old store cards, business cards, sinex inhalers, badges, sellotape, glue, more pencils, highlighters, keys for goodness knows what…I'm not the only one am I?!

Take care,

Pipa x

Hi Pipa, You are a hoot to watch on QVC and also your blogs are so inspiring. I dont know how you manage it all. Wish you all the best in your new abode but we will miss you so so much. It would be lovely to see you back at some stage. You cant beat the countryside for a great way of life. Like you I am also thinking of getting chickens. That’ll be fun with 3 dogs and 7 cats. Love your hair. You are such a beautiful person inside and out.

Hi Julie ….can you remember which it was?? I’ve a memory like a sieve!! If it was orange, it was from QVC by Ingenue although I’ve been told everyone jumped to the phones when they saw it and it sold out so you may need to wait for it to come back again. If it was a grey one, I bought that in Ghost a couple of years ago …sorry, not much help am I?! xx

    Hi Pippa,
You were wearing an absolutely gorgeous heart necklace on the Birkenstock show tonight, (Monday 24th June). Where did you get it from. xx

    Hi Pipa,
Your hair looks great at the moment, it must be really helpful that it is so easy to care for now that you are mega busy.
I will miss you presenting but I wish you well with your studies and everything else.
We had chickens a few years ago. We were taken in by the eggloo ads which showed a neat grassy garden with a few chickens wandering about in a decorative manner. Well we ended up with JCB chickens. They scratched up the grass, uprooted patio pots and kicked stones all over the paths. They were very free range and desperate to come indoors and see what they could wreck there! They used to sit on the backdoor step with our rather puzzled cats in the hope that I would let them in. We did get some eggs to make up for it. My son named them Sam and Ella – get it?
Anyway, good luck with the move and I will look forward to seeing you again next year.

Hi ladies …Alison I’ve heard they are a nightmare on the lawn so where we are moving to there is already an area cordoned off for them which is PERFECT!! The current owners have chickens ducks AND geese …so the rabbit is going to get the geese bit and then we will put chickens in the other. Simon Biagi has given me lots of tips ….I’ll let you know how it goes!
Michaela, I think the necklace you are referring to was a Nour one that was on last Friday. It’s such a great range of jewellery, loads of great pieces. I’ve checked on the website and it’s not there any longer so I can only assume it sold out …worth keeping an eye out for it though if it comes back.
Vivienne …it’s not me in the ad ….although it should be, I use it religiously!!
    Lots of love xx

HI PIPPA SO NICE TO SEE YOU BACK AND THE HOUSE AND GARDENS LOOK DELIGHTFUL.
I THINK YOU ARE LOOKING TERRIFIC, BUT I HAVE A QUESTION, DOES YOUR HAIR GROW LONG NATURALLY OR ARE YOU USING SOMETHING TO MAKE IT GROW QUICKER? I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW AS MINE IS VERY SLOW GROWING AND I WANT MY LONG HAIR BACK.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD AND TAKE CARE. LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR LOVELY FAMILY FROM ME – ANNETTE XOXOXO
