The first month of the year is almost over already – hope you’ve kept warm, it’s been a chilly one hasn’t it! I’ve been looking after the birds in my garden this month – I snapped up the new improved version of Richard Jackson’s bird food from QVC, got my ‘proper’ camera out and managed to get some lovely close-up shots of a nice selection of feathered friends enjoying their breakfast. We even had a pheasant popping in one morning, snapping up the seed dropped by the small birds from the feeder up in the tree. It’s such a joy to stand by my kitchen window and watch them, I love it.
Talking of birds, my sister and her husband visited from Dublin at the weekend and on the Saturday afternoon we headed off to Slimbridge, a bird reserve in Gloucestershire run by the Wildfowl & Wetlands trust. It’s just wonderful – I’ve never seen so many swans in one place, and we even got to see some cheeky otters eating their fish dinner. Highly recommended if you’re in the West Country.
Now…a sneaky peek for you! I’ve been working on a very exciting new QVC project, with none other than the fabulous Ruth Langsford of This Morning and Loose Women fame (and of course, Mrs Eamonn Holmes!). I can’t tell you anything else right now, but watch this space…more info very soon!
I’m taking a bit of time off next week but I’ll be back on QVC on the 10th February. See you then!
