Get the right gear

As I may have mentioned in the past, ladders and I don’t get on very well!

In actual fact, that’s not correct… I have been forced to use some old ladders in the past, which weren’t very good in the first place and always ended somewhat unpleasantly.

Now I fervently believe that as long as you have the right equipment and follow simple guidelines, ladders are absolutely fine.

The problem is which ladder to choose? Sometimes you need a long ladder to reach the gutters sometimes you need and A-frame ladder in order to do some decorating and sometimes the area that you’re working on is really difficult and what you really need is a trestle or a work platform.

That’s why, when I heard about the Wolf 11-in-one ladder, I became quite interested.

Wolf is a brand that I have trusted for many years and have a small compressor, multi-tool, and several other tools by Wolf because they always make quality equipment at a reasonable price. Their ladder is no different. It is a multi positional ladder that can achieve at least 11 different configurations.

Although it can be a 3.37m tall ladder, it can also be an A frame ladder or a work platform. It even comes with the metal non-slip sheets that you can stand on in that configuration. Despite all this, it still only weighs just over 10kg, so is easy to move around and to set up.

Tommy Cross showed me this ladder in the studio the other day when I found out it was our Big Deal on QVC Extra. I took one home to try, and as you can see from the pictures, it proved to be an invaluable help when I got around to all those little jobs like cleaning out the gutters, replacing the bulb in my security light, pruning some branches, and a whole host of other jobs.

Of course many people go to the nearest DIY shed and get the cheapest ladder on offer, I used to do exactly the same. But that is something I regretted doing on more than one occasion, and now I will only use ladders that are safe, high-quality and from reputable brands. After all it’s a tool that you should only have to buy once and it’s something that you should be able to rely on for every job that you need to do.

Not all ladders can promise to deliver on that.

The Wolf 11-in-one ladder is a Big Deal on QVC Extra for a whole week from Monday 26th February, and it is at a fabulous price at under £70. If you have any work to do at home in the near future, make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to get probably the only ladder you’ll ever need!
