Get back to basics with Michaela Taylor from Gatineau

Michaela from Gatineau

Hi eveyone, Michaela from Gatineau here.

This month we have our Gatineau Mini Series from the 17th – 20th April every night at 10pm. We will be giving each of our shows a different theme and showcasing some of our most famous, tried-and-tested skincare products, as well as introducing some exciting newcomers!

If you are a Gatineau lover, you'll want to make the most of these four shows, as each of them is packed with fantastic kits at incredible value. I will be letting you know what you can expect in each of the shows, and the products you will definitely not want to miss out on…

Back to Basics  – Sunday 17th April at 10pm

This show is all about getting back to our core products – the bestsellers, the old favourites and the ones you just can't seem to live without! Good quality, staple skincare products are so important in your routine, and this hour will be geared towards showing you how to get the best results from them. Here are my top picks…

Supersize Cleanser and Toners
Gatineau Supersize Cleanse & Tone Collection You can't get more 'back to basics' than this! Cleansing the skin is the most important step we all take in our daily skincare routines, and Gatineau cleansers have been used as part of salon treatments for decades.

All of our cleansers and toners are free from drying alcohol, are PH balanced and contain specially chosen plant extracts that actually help to treat your skin concerns whilst removing dirt and impurities from the skin. We have three options for you – Dry/Dehydrated, Oily/Combination and Sensitive.

Moisturising, Firming and Brightening Skincare
Gatineau Moisturising, Firming & Brightening Collection The name of the kit says it all! We've put together our Age Benefit Integral Regenerating Cream, Firming Throat Gel and Activ Eclat Gommage to give you a three-phase approach to your skincare.

The Activ Eclat Gommage exfoliates the skin in under five minutes, turning from a gel into a liquid as it loosens dead skin cells. Vitamins and light reflectors work to give your skin a radiant glow once the product has been rinsed off. Use this once to twice a week.

Next, Throat Gel goes on… this super serum is highly concentrated with plant proteins to help firm the appearance of the skin on the neck and décolleté. Sweep over clean skin, working from the top of the bust line right the way up to the jaw line.

For the face, we give you Age Benefit Integral Anti-Ageing Cream – our newest and most scientifically advanced formula to date. This wonder cream tackles lines and wrinkles, lack of firmness, dehydration, and lacklustre skin in one go!

Aquamemory Eye Roll On
Gatineau Aquamemory Moisture Replenish Eye Roll-on - 220994 We all know we need water to get our skin looking plumped, rehydrated and less, well, to put it bluntly, crinkly! This new eye product floods the delicate orbital skin with seaweed extracts and hyaluronic acid, helping to retain precious water. The results are pretty obvious – more water = plumper-looking skin!

The roller ball action cools, decongests and has a great result on dark circles and puffiness. The handy tube makes for a great addition to any make up bag – I apply mine throughout the day if my make-up starts to crack when I smile, happens more than you'd think!

So there we have it, a few of the goodies you can expect to see in out first show of the Mini Series.

Enjoy the shows!

Michaela x

Hi Michaela, what can I do when I can’t follow your advice? – we are all told there is no point in putting creams etc on un-exfoliated skin (for obvious reasons) – due to having to take steroids (and possibly weather damage over the years) I have lots of broken veins on my cheeks, therefore apparently I am unable to exfoliate. Am I wasting my money trying to moisturise cleanse and tone skin that presumably is full of dead cells? I really would love some advice.

Hi Linda! I’m an avid fan of Gatineau and read your comment on exfoliation. Have you tried the enzymatic Gommage once/twice a week or the Activ Eclat, which is a daily exfoliant. There are no granules to scrub your skin and it takes a short time to apply with a great result. Try it with your 30 day money back guarantee. Elemis also do Papyia Enzyme exfoliator, very gentle with great results. Hope that helps you.

Thanks Ruth for answering my question – will try the Gommage (I always forget that I can send it back if it doesn’t work), thank you for taking the time for this advice x
