Just come back indoors following an hour or so 'Garking' – no, not barking – Garking, using the Golden Gark. I can heartily recommend it, it's a little multipurpose gem – particularly after the pine trees in our garden have dumped a couple of tons of needles – nice!
I created a handsome pile of needles very quickly with the Gark, turned around to get a bag, when a gust of wind re-deposited them from whence they came – "Oh bother", I cried and set about doing it all again (you can replace 'bother' with the word you think I may have used!). But I got there in the end.
Toby celebrated his third birthday on the 2nd. OK, he didn't actually have a clue or a celebration – but we did and gave him even more treats – he remains in great health apart from his bi-monthly ripped claw problems. But he deals with this like many other things, without much fuss and with his very good nature.
He continues to bring daily joy to our home. Unlike The England rugby team; as Sweet Charioteers, my son Jack and I were so disappointed with the team's performance, and Jack's day didn't improve when he damaged ligaments in his foot playing rugby later that morning – luckily, it wasn't too serious though.
So as England, Ireland and Scotland rue what might have been, Wales proudly carry our hopes into the Rugby World Cup semi finals – I had an inkling that it was to be a Welsh weekend when we launched a Clogau TSV pendant on Friday, and then they won the football that evening as well! Good luck to the Welsh Dragons!
I'm glad that the behind the scenes stories from our outside broadcasts seem in the main to have gone down well – I'll put my thinking cap on and try and recall some others – in fact as I type I'm thinking of the time I filmed in Poole Harbour (yes literally in the harbour) – but more of that next week. Marian it involves me in a wetsuit – so I want to make sure I remember it accurately, if only to win your support for the Silver Fox OB Blog!
Oh, before I forget just found this stunner of a pic with myself and Milagros Candela on the jetty at L'Albufera in Valencia (see Sept 22nd 'Christmas is coming' blog). I know I look like Jake the peg! But what a sunset!
There's another busy week ahead with Diamonique Day (Tues) and our fantastic Breast Cancer Care Charity Show (Weds). I loved your suggestions for an impromptu auction in the comments section of my last blog – hilarious!
Stay tuned and most importantly healthy and happy!
