Our gardens are going to be extra colourful next year, judging by the fabulous new plants that I've been seeing on the trial grounds recently. I've been travelling with a QVC team assessing, then filming, the best new plants for next year. I saw some crackers but mum's the word, I'm afraid, I'm not allowed to tell you about them yet!
This picture (left) shows the lovely Claudia from Thompson & Morgan who helped us with the filming. Claudia is standing beside a huge pot containing two of my top new plants from this year, Begonia Buffy and Begonia Peardrops. Both plants have been magnificent in my garden this summer.
On Tuesday, I had the honour of meeting our 'Garden Inspirations' winners, Ros and Roger Cooper in their incredibly beautiful garden in Wednesfield near Wolverhampton. It is absolutely stunning, a small garden divided into different 'rooms', each with their own character and charm, and each packed with the most fabulous selection of plants.
Ros has that very rare gift – she's a plantaholic with real vision who can combine a huge variety of plants in a wonderfully artistic way. It was such a pleasure to meet Ros and her family. We'll be putting a selection of photo's from the day on the QVC website soon and we'll be showing a film of the garden as well as Ros's gardening tips during our Garden Inspirations show in October.
I can't wait for everyone to see this lovely garden. And for me to see it again!
