What a lovely time we had at the weekend at the annual Gala Black and White ball, run by By Invitation Only, raising funds for Medical Detection Dogs and BCC. Ali Keenan and Linda Magistris and I, plus friends and family, made up a couple of tables and lots of fun was had by all! It was nice to get dressed up for a change too!
I’m going to continue to do my best helping my charities as the months go by and hopefully things will settle down soon! My regular big raffle for MDD will hopefully be back sometime early next year plus some other ideas about fundraising. Plus – Ali K has some cunning plans I’ve been encouraging about a potential big bash of our own, like this Gala ball – we will see…!
Nobody here but us chickens, boss!
Well the new place has chickens – I talk about it and the new house move – happening this weekend – on my latest newsletter on my website here – do click-through and read all about the latest developments ! (and subscribe if you’d like to get them regularly!) It’s a big move again but it gets me back on the property ladder and living nearby a fabulous retreat I’ll be helping out at whilst in Devon. There are chickens there! Eek! I will be in London working at QVC the other half of the week and staying with family though – I will probably get to see them more than I do now! Can’t wait to be down there and settled in – just got to get through the 400 mile round trip a couple of times first! Lol.
House move The most stressful bit is nearly over. Yay! I actually didn’t have too much to throw out, thank goodness – quite a few clothes again, mainly. Will keep you informed if any come up for auction on eBay if they get donated to a charity! Hehe! Don’t laugh – I’ve already had an offer for some of my shoes from ladies who are the same size as me! Lol
Chiswick Sing Song update – 18th ~November!
Well they’ve sent out the programme for the evening entertainment on Nov 18th – here’s the full line up – see last week’s blog for the info about where to book the £10 tickets for this fab charity event for the local community which they do each year – if you’d like to come along and hear me sing! I’ve been asked to do Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ amongst other things – eeek I’m already nervous!
Trio of Pogs Found this week – what a lovely pic – I think I may have it framed in the new home given lovely Patchy has departed this world now. Smashing reminder of her.
Book of the Week – The Christmas Promise by Sue Moorcroft – a surprisingly edgy novel covering some difficult topics but with a sweet romance at heart – go here to find out more! Maybe I should read a load of Christmassy novels between now and yuletide so satiate my appetite for all things festive, what do you think? What’s your top Christmas book?
Hero cake I did a show this week for the Poppy appeal, tons of wonderful poppy jewellery. You can find the range here. My favourite is the one with a faux pearl design from Buckley and enamel poppy slider clasp for just £15 – (it looks just like real pearls!)
Anyway when I saw this cake I thought it was breathtaking. How would you rate it? And let me know in a comment below – what do you think of the Poppy jewellery collection – or do you prefer the accessories?
Molton Brown at Lister Hospital This week I went to have a consultation with the country’s foremost expert on the rare genetic skin condition I found out I’ve had all my life. It was very interesting – you can read the update on my health blog here. Well guess what they had in the bathrooms! You know you’re in a posh hospital when they have orange and bergamot in the loo! Meanwhile go here for some super Molton B rown offers on our website.
Facebook Funny hehehahahaa!
Here’s a fab treat for you this week – not just one, little funny moment but two! Enjoy!
Dale or Dave
Well obviously I haven’t had enough time to watch anything myself this week – too busy packing! But I fancy this at the cinema – what do you reckon? And not just because it was what I trained to be when I first left university! When I get the time I’ll definitely go along to see Ben Affleck in ‘The Accountant’. Looking forward to Jack Reacher too!

– Here’s another fab post from my Till the Fat Lady Slims book’s support group on Facebook –
Sam M says – after having a gastric band and using Freedom Eating principles, as listed in my TTFLS book to help her – ‘It’s helped me to recognise the feelings of being full, so that I can stop eating before I get to that point, because being full makes me feel uncomfortable. It’s also helped me to identify when I’m actually hungry enough that I need to eat, most of the time I am just thirsty xx’
Fabulous news isn’t it, from yet more ladies finding the support from TTFLS and Freedom Eating is really helping on their weight loss journey. I say to anyone who wants to give it a try, to read ‘Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0 – the ‘When’ Diet’ book first, which is like the one which sold out in signed hardback on QVC last year. Plus book 3.0 with more tips and tales to inspire. The whole picture and links are here on my webpage.
