Funny haha!!

Michael McIntyreWell it may have taken two and a half hours battling the London traffic to travel 20 miles from my house to Wembley Arena to see Michael McIntyre last night, but it was certainly worth it. For some reason he makes me laugh before he even opens his mouth and his show last night really was just what I need at the moment – a good laugh!

I love that he doesn't really tell jokes as such, it's more observing people and then exaggerating the story to create humour. He also has an uncanny knack of making you recognise yourself in some of the situations he describes.

I know the tour is coming to an end on Monday but if you can't make it buy the DVD if you want some real 'laugh out loud ' moments.

It's been a busy week with Daniel's birthday on Tuesday. I was rushing around as usual, baking a birthday cake, making soup for lunch and putting a wash on at the same time. When Chris unloaded the washing he called through and asked, "What's this pale blue thing?" As I walked through to the kitchen I was saying, "It's Daniel's favourite jumper," and then I stopped dead in my tracks. Chris was holding up a miniature, matted version of Daniel's favourite jumper!

I had accidentally put the washing on the wrong temperature and it had shrunk. I was really upset about it and was trying to work out how to tell Daniel. Sophie came round for dinner and her Dad showed her the matted mess – well she couldn't stop laughing. She took control of the situation by making her brother try to squeeze into the jumper so we could take a photo and put it on Twitter for a giggle, ordering a replacement jumper off the website and saying that the ruined one would make a great new blanket for Oskar the kitten… sorted!

Elemis TSVWe had the Elemis viewer's event on Wednesday. It was lovely to meet those of you who were able to attend. Keeley wasn't with us on Wednesday but she will be here for the Elemis Today's Special Value on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to working with her at 8pm and 11pm.

Hopefully there will be some TSV's available so that we will be able to talk about it but, in case it's sold out can I say, just for the record, that the new Evening Blooms Dry Oil is absolutely gorgeous- It has the aroma of jasmine and osmanthus and is so pleasurable to use.

The TSV also has the Quiet Mind Relaxing Bath Elixir in it which is so calming after a stressful day, and my favourite Elemis showering product, the Skin Nourishing Shower Cream. Add to that the Pro Radiance Cleanser and the Gentle Rose Exfoliator and the fact that it's on four easy payments!

I know I normally encourage splitting these collections into individual presents but if you are thinking of doing that you might want to buy two as I don't think you are going to want to part with any of it!

Have a great weekend, love Julia xx

    Hi Julia
Long time since i’ve left a comment – no excuse really basically very busy (i know you understand x). Anyway lets get the football talk out of the way – third division? – i was/am devastated but we’ll get back to full fitness hopefully in not too long a time? My dear dad(no longer with us) would have not believed his eyes and ears – his beloved Glasgow Rangers in the third division – surely not – well – surely yes!! No use crying over spilt milk eh xx I received an e-mail asking if i wanted to order the Elemis tsv early – is the grass green/the sky blue? – of course – i ordered four – the offer was too good what with four pay and BMSM i just could not resist as all the products i use everyday – fantastic tsv and what a lovely Christmas pressie for us Elemis gals xx I’m really looking forward to the new dry body oil – i adore and love the Frangiapani monoi melt oil so although a different texture i’m sure i will love the new oil x I received a lovely invitation last weekend after nineteen years of custom i’ve been invited to the beauty bash at Islington next January – my day is the 23 January and we’ve got the 2.30-6.30 slot – i am really hoping to be able to say hello to you,Ali Y and Keeley from Elemis inparticularly – but i’ll love meeting everyone anyway x I’m such a QVC beauty junkie(my credit/debit card can prove this!!)that uts going to be the perfect afternoon ever!! x Myself and my friend are coming down to London on the 22nd and staying overnight – dinner and early bed then in the morning we’re planning an early breakfast then in the morning we are going to do a bit of sight seeing – hopefully we’ll be able to go to the Nails inc flagship shop in South Molton Street – we both love nails but we’ll do what we can before getting the tube to Angel station and see all you guys(i used to work in London so i’m very happy with the tube system) – it will be so funny being able to talk to you all after all this time – nineteen years – time has just flown past eh!!x I hope you are organised for Christmas – i know you dont start till after Daniels birthday. What ashame about Daniels jumper but at least you managed to get him another x I once dyed all my ex-husbands white work shirts pink!! and it was a Sunday night too but with a little running around we managed to have him suited and booted the next day but it was a costly mistake i tell you. Anyway i do hope to be able to say hello in January Julia but if not look after yourself and remember “what doesnt kill you makes you stronger” – keep smiling x Love Linda,Glasgow xx

Another big win for the mighty Eagles Julia. Do you reckon promotion could be on the cards?
Glad you got Daniels jumper sorted. I think I saw the pic on your twitter.
Off out into the freezing cold to see Rangers v Elgin in the Scottish Cup. I’m sure it’ll be worth it
Take care and hope you have had a good weekend

    Hi Julia,
Glad you ejoyed Michael McIntyre, yes he is funny isnt he.
I had to laugh about the jumper, lucky Oscar, never mind we have all done it I am sure, it is easy to do.
Yes I managed to get a couple of the Elemis TSV’s, and one for my daughter, fantastic value wasnt it. Love the Elemis products.
You definately seemed to be enjoying the chocolates on Sunday night, I am like you if I have any chocolate it has to be a really good one, I hate all the bars of chocolate you can get, it is so sweet, leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. Yuk.
Hope you had a good weekend, did you get your Christmas cake made?
    Love Jean X

Steven – Yes great minds!! x What can i say as a fellow ‘Gers fan you’ll know how i’m feeling but i’m so proud of the team and Ali for their really positive outlook and determination to get back to were they belong eh x The fire has gone out of the premier league since the “old firm” were split up but give us a few years and all will sort its self – i’m just happy my dear father can’t see this as it would have devestated him – he was born in 1920 and when he was a young man(before the war) he had a Saturday job in the morning – he lived in Possilpark – and after work he would run from home to Ibrox so he could catch the second half – in those days they used to open the gates at half time and let fans in for free – this is all the more poignant because he lost his right leg in the war a few years later – no more running!! Thanks for the comment Steven – always nice to talk to a fellow teddy bear x Linda

    Hi Julia
So sorry Chris didn’t write on your blog…I did ask him a number of times, but he has been really stressed out with work, plus being head cook and bottle washer, he was really under pressure and I didn’t want to pester him too much!!
My operation went OK and the hospital staff were brilliant. The consultants assistant actually came in with me and kept me talking whilst it was being done. Chris spoke to the consultant afterwards, whilst I was in the recovery area and he said I’d done really well and the nerves were very crushed and it should help a great deal!
We took the bandage and padding off on Friday and have to keep the dressing plaster on until I see the Nurse on Thursday. All I can say is thank goodness for Arnica, I’ve plastered it on the palm, wrist and thumb area all of which are very bruised and sore.
I did write this morning, but caught one of the keys and lost everything, really annoyed cause it took for ages writing with one hand!
Due to do my hand exercises again, so will speak soon

    Hi Linda
How lovely to hear from you after so long. So pleased you ordered your Elemis TSV’s – you will have had them by now so I hope you are loving the oil.
I am not at all prepared for Christmas – I haven’t written a single Christmas card yet! It’s been a very busy week – see new blog!
You won’t have long to wait until Rangers are back in the top flight where they belong, but hopefully the powers that be within the club will have learnt a budgeting lesson! My boys are going great guns – a really good balanced team with a couple of stars!
You have no idea how relevant ‘that which does not kill us makes us stronger’ is to me at the moment …. very spooky that you wrote it.
I hope I will get to meet you at the Beauty Bash – it’s not decided yet which presenters will attend. Of course Ali Young will be there both days.
    much love
    Julia x

I think promotion is a definite possibility!!!! As I said to Linda a balanced team and a couple of stars ( if we can keep them in January ) ….. products of the Palace Academy I might add.
We have Ian Holloway’s old team Blackpool tomorrow so I hope we can claim another 3 points.
Good luck with your progress in the cup …. good win for Celtic in the week ;-)
    speak soon

Yes I did manage to get my Christmas cake made, but I haven’t done the one for backstage yet …. I’m running even later than usual!
I wasn’t supposed to be doing the Lily O’Brian show on Sunday but Jilly was taken ill suddenly so I had to step in – nice show to have to take over!!!!
    Have a good weekend

    Hi Martin
Yes Daniel has forgiven me for shrinking his jumper.
I have had quite a few cards at work but I haven’t opened any yet as I am trying to work out where to put them in our new dressing room … not sure I’m allowed to stick pins in walls!
We are at home for Christmas – Sophie is bringing a girl that she works with who can’t get home and Chris’s mum is coming too. Still working on my mum.
    speak soon

So relieved your operation went well and hope your appointment with the nurse yesterday was positive too.
Chris is forgiven for not writing – he had a lot on and he’s only a man LOL!!!!!! I didn’t realise you would be able to write so soon after the op.
Please take it easy and follow instructions

    Hi Julia
Had the left hand done, so typing with my right one at the moment…it does take a little bit longer though and I have to read back and alter because it’s dyslexic lol!!
Will be posting your card and packet tomorrow, so keep your eyes open for it’s arrival!
The Thorntons have just arrived…yum, yum!!
    Have a lovely weekend.

Sorry Julia to hijack the thread a little! Linda just noticed your comment. You are spot on with all you say. I hope we work our way back up though. I dont want us fast traced to the SPL. I still have a season ticket and the crowds this season have been unbelievable. Another World Record at the weekend for a 4th tier match – we broke our own Record
Hope you are well and as I say Julia sorry – hope you are well too lol xx
