Well it may have taken two and a half hours battling the London traffic to travel 20 miles from my house to Wembley Arena to see Michael McIntyre last night, but it was certainly worth it. For some reason he makes me laugh before he even opens his mouth and his show last night really was just what I need at the moment – a good laugh!
I love that he doesn't really tell jokes as such, it's more observing people and then exaggerating the story to create humour. He also has an uncanny knack of making you recognise yourself in some of the situations he describes.
I know the tour is coming to an end on Monday but if you can't make it buy the DVD if you want some real 'laugh out loud ' moments.
It's been a busy week with Daniel's birthday on Tuesday. I was rushing around as usual, baking a birthday cake, making soup for lunch and putting a wash on at the same time. When Chris unloaded the washing he called through and asked, "What's this pale blue thing?" As I walked through to the kitchen I was saying, "It's Daniel's favourite jumper," and then I stopped dead in my tracks. Chris was holding up a miniature, matted version of Daniel's favourite jumper!
I had accidentally put the washing on the wrong temperature and it had shrunk. I was really upset about it and was trying to work out how to tell Daniel. Sophie came round for dinner and her Dad showed her the matted mess – well she couldn't stop laughing. She took control of the situation by making her brother try to squeeze into the jumper so we could take a photo and put it on Twitter for a giggle, ordering a replacement jumper off the website and saying that the ruined one would make a great new blanket for Oskar the kitten… sorted!
We had the Elemis viewer's event on Wednesday. It was lovely to meet those of you who were able to attend. Keeley wasn't with us on Wednesday but she will be here for the Elemis Today's Special Value on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to working with her at 8pm and 11pm.
Hopefully there will be some TSV's available so that we will be able to talk about it but, in case it's sold out can I say, just for the record, that the new Evening Blooms Dry Oil is absolutely gorgeous- It has the aroma of jasmine and osmanthus and is so pleasurable to use.
The TSV also has the Quiet Mind Relaxing Bath Elixir in it which is so calming after a stressful day, and my favourite Elemis showering product, the Skin Nourishing Shower Cream. Add to that the Pro Radiance Cleanser and the Gentle Rose Exfoliator and the fact that it's on four easy payments!
I know I normally encourage splitting these collections into individual presents but if you are thinking of doing that you might want to buy two as I don't think you are going to want to part with any of it!
Have a great weekend, love Julia xx
