Four ideas to make this half term your best one yet!

0

Half term is looming, which means five whole days to keep kids (both young and old) busy, entertained, and most importantly, NOT bored. Fear not, because here at QVC we have a fantastic selection of products to keep everyone occupied, as well as some fun ideas and inspiration too. Make sure to leave a comment below with your favourite half term activities!

1. Explore outdoors

There’s nothing better than a brisk walk to take in the fresh air, and getting the whole family involved makes the journey a lot more fun too! Although the sun is starting to hang around a little more these days, it’s still important to wrap up warm when you’re off exploring.

Centigrade faux fur hood coat

We love this Centigrade coat – it comes in six versatile shades, has a detachable faux fur hood (which is great if there’s a downpour), and the fitted style is super flattering.

Frank Usher poncho

If you’re after something a little more luxurious, why not try this Frank Usher poncho? It’s the perfect piece to pop on over a simple T-shirt and jeans.

2. Get gardening

Love gardening? Why don’t you use this week to get the little ones involved too?

Richard Jackson Flower Power and all-season feed

Our fantastic gardening department have a huge array of plants, pots and tools to choose from, as well as essentials like Richard Jackson’s Flower Power premium plant food and all-season feed to help grow a varied and vibrant selection of flowers, fruit and veg.

Wildlife World bird feeder

If the kids want to see some birds in your garden, they might like this wonderful swing seat bird feeder from Wildlife World – it even comes with a removable tray to easily clean, so there’s no worry about getting messy.

If you’re looking for plant and flower ideas to beautify your borders, here are two varieties to get you started. On the left, we have a single red and yellow Plants2Gardens camellia – perfect if they love bright colours. On the right, a mixture of Plants2Gardens hymenocallis festalis bulbs, which would make for a fabulous central display in your borders, and they’re beautifully scented too.

3. Plan a banquet

A tasty supper is a great way to bond and catch up after a busy day, and our delicious selection of meals and snacks means you’re totally spoilt for choice when it comes to planning your menu.

This smoked salmon selection from H. Forman & Son would make a lovely starter, while this Green Seasons roasting trio features joints of gammon, beef and pork – perfect to keep everyone happy! Lastly, these four crumbles from The Real Pie Company are the perfect way to end a meal, with crowd-pleasing favourites like fruits of the forest and Brambley apple.

4. Throw a karaoke party

We imagine the kids in your family are obsessed with Disney’s Frozen, and we’ve got something we think they’re going to love…

This Disney Frozen karaoke machine comes complete with a microphone which you can connect to a pair of headphones, a karaoke boombox with a radio setting and a cable to connect to your smartphone or tablet, plus a standing mic if you’re planning a concert for the family.
