For oily, dry and blemished skin…

Alpha-H Liquid Harmony Q: I'm Asian, age 26. Since the age of 15 I have had acne problems. When I came to this country 11 years ago I tried everything but nothing worked permanently. My skin has gone back to being oily, dry and blemished. Although my skin is not dark, it's not clear.

I don't have big spots which I used to when I was 18 but now I have acne on my chin, forehead and especially on my jaw line. They are very painful. Please can you recommend any good product which really works?

Alison: Firstly, this may be something worth mentioning to your doctor in case they can give you some medical advice to help.

You've mentioned using skincare designed to target spots that give great results at first and then later on these seem to worsen. This may be because you've stopped using these products or aren't using them as much, perhaps. Plus, they can dry the skin out or be too harsh after a while. So instead you need to make sure you're using some hydrating formulas to help prevent your skin from drying out.

If you haven't got a routine at home, try Alpha-H Liquid Gold. Liquid Gold will help to clean out the pores and the blackheads – you only need to use it three nights a week and then you can lessen off to once a week once you start seeing results.

I'd also suggest using the Alpha-H Balancing Moisturiser under a cleanser from the Alpha-H range.

    Hi Alison
I am a 47 year old black women who suffer with very oily skin and severe acne and scaring on my face, chest, back and arms. I also have very sensitive skin which rules out alot of products for me. My skin has made me very insecure and withdrawn and I am at my wits end with what to do.
I desperately need your advice on the following:
    – Cleanser and toner
    – Exfoliator
    – Oil free foundation
    – product to obsorb excess oil on my face, and
    – a translucent face powder
You are my last hope of finding products that will solve my problem skin and give me back my confidence

I have a major problem with my skin. I have very oily hormonal skin. I am going through “the change” early as I am only 31, I have major sweats all the time. I have extreemly oily skin round my chin, on my cheeks and across my forehead. I have spots every day and have to constantly dry my face from the excess oil. I have tried Liz Earle and found that it made my skin worse and clogged up my skin. When I use make up I use Bare Escentials and at the beginging that was fine and I loved it but now it makes my skin tight and I can not wait to get it off. I am at my wits end and I do not know what to do or what to use.

    Hi Alison,
I am 43 years old and mixed race, I have combination skin, no lines and wrinkles but I am noticing slackness at the top of my cheeks and my eyes are puffy, I also have slackness around my jawline.
My biggest problem is that I have open pores on my cheeks only and I get big boil type spots that hurt and take long to go, when they do go they leave marks, I would love a simple routine that would address all my issues.
    – cleanser
    – exfoliation
    – mask
    – moisturiser ( serum if needed)
    – eye cream
Also how often to exfoliate so I’m not over stimulating my skin.
    Many thanks
