Toby’s new hairdos

Toby in a top knot Following on from my 'Bad Hair day' blog last week – Toby, (not to be outdone) wanted to join in the party, which explains the two photos. Needless to say that I had nothing to do with either look but my favourite was the 'braided mane' rather than the 'top knot'.

I know I go on about him, but he is just the perfect dog – he's so chilled yet he has immense character and like most dogs (particularly Beardies) he loves to play – it's hard to spot him in our garden without a rugby/foot/tennis ball in his mouth, particularly when one of the kids is in the garden. On top of that he's obedient. See, perfect!!

Toby with his fur braided I really appreciated all your comments you leave after a blog and it's particularly gratifying that my highly embarrassing efforts with the Wii didn't go unnoticed or indeed unappreciated – and to think I also had a cameo role in a three-part drama series (see last blog comments).

Well as I've said before –'Be careful what you wish for Franklin'! There's me saying 'where are the April showers?' and as soon as my blog went live we had two days of rain! Not that we didn't need it mind – but I had to laugh to myself.

Charlie Brook and I (being big kids) keep texting distorted photos of ourselves to each other (no Marian!) You know, the iPhone App 'Aliens' etc, and he deletes mine as soon as he's had a giggle… but I don't – and some of the customers at the 'Theatre of Gems' Gem Day preview, were treated to a quick look at a 'Brook Alien' – don't worry I only showed them whilst Charlie was there – I'm not that cruel!

Well, until next time… take good care of yourselves.

Dale x

Dale – your dog is truly gorgeous.I love to read about him and see the photo’s.My grandma bought me the exact same dog when I was 4 – and I had him until he passed on,when I was 18.They are lovely dogs for families and children.Keep posting about him!

That Toby is just gorgeous. He looks soooooo proud of himself. You should do a show with him perhaps when the Furminator is on, though I have to say my pussies (and I have two!) didn’t much care for it. Casper (aka ‘my little tiger’) started to attack it when I tried grooming him and then attacked my hand until I stopped. I’m afraid it had to go back.
‘Boys and Toys’ is all I have to say about you and Charlie’s antics. I’m sending something to QVC Towers that I think will amuse you both. Let me know what you think on your blog when you’ve had a ‘play’! And tell Charlie that I’ve stopped blogging him cos he doesn’t blog back and where’s the fun in that?! Seriously Dale, I love it that you blog us back, and I’m sure that all your other ‘ladies’ on here agree.

That Toby is a lucky dog to have his daddy Dale,
My woofer Willow loves to see his pictures on the ‘mail’,
A Choccy Lab, I think she’s FAB, my true four-legged friend,
She sends her love to Toby dog with wags from end to end.
Sorry but I just had to rise to the challenge.

Hi Dale, I never tire of seeing pictures of the very lovely, handsome Toby and I think he looks even cuter with his ‘top knot’ hairstyle. Dale, you were not embarrassing at all demonstrating the Wii. You were very good and very entertaining; after all, isn’t that what the Wii is suppose to be all about? You are great fun to watch and I think you do a fab job of demonstrating it. Your children should be very happy that they have such a fun Dad.
How exciting that Marian has sent you a gift. Don’t forget to share with us what it is Dale. I do agree with Marian that us ladies love it when you blog back. You know you can always trust us ladies to behave!!
    Speak soon, Gail x

Thank you Marian and Rosie – I am obviously very biased towards Toby but he really is a wonderful dog and I put that down to a combination of genetics and Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisperer). He gets a lot of attention on walks from virtually everyone he meets(there’s always the odd grumpy one) and even people that are nervous around dogs are at ease with him. Rosie I’ll certainly keep posting about Toby and Marian – I’ll keep my eyes open for the Post Man ! Dale x

Ladies, how about Dale as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, now there’s a thought! He’d have to behave with Brucey though!

The Tango is definitely doing it for me Gail As for behaving, no fun at all!
Did you see our Hero on Yankee last night. The show opened and Dale said something about seductive lighting. I was gone and had to switch off. xxx

I thought it was Toby who should be BARKING !! Great comments – Thank you Girls. Fiona I do miss your text poems, good to see you’ve still got the magic with the rhymes – Gail your ditty was also fab (although the subject matter was a bit dodgy) – If I attempted a twirl on Strictly – Brucie would be lost for words and I’m sure I wouldn’t be one of his “favourites” !. Barbara we previously had a Beardie for 16 years, We missed “Emma” so much and my wife vowed not to get another, but the kids were desperate for a Puppy and if we hadn’t got Toby what would I blog about ! Marian, brace yourself. I did see Dale on the Yankee programme and I saw him wiggling his wick (someone pick Marian up from the floor please). I had never seen this done before but apparently if you wiggle the wick you get a more intense aroma. I think I’d better stop there ………… LOL XXX

Surely you can’t wiggle it when it’s all alight and inflamed Gail. But then again !!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a naughty girl. xxx

Oh how these comments make me laugh! I reckon dale is very flattered! Your beardie Toby is gorgous. How old is he now? My favourite hairstyle is the plait along his back.. i never knew you were so good with hairstyling Dale! haha. Keep up the great work and don’t stop Gail and Marian, your comments truly are hillarious!

Thanks Ali – the plait was down to my “Ali” she’s Alex really but never gets called that ! You’re right I am flattered at my age ! I agree with you that all the girl’s comments are hilarious and I always look forward to reading them. Good to hear from you – Dale x

Marian behave yourself, but I had better make myself clear re wiggling the wick. In order to intensify the aroma of the candle when the presenters were smelling them, they wiggled the wick a little. Obviously the candles were not lit. If you tune in next time when Dale is presenting a Yankee show I’m sure at some point he’ll get to wiggle his wick (someone pick Marian up off the floor please). xx
