    Hi Claire
Just to say that I have just enjoyed a lovely ten minutes reading your blog.
I cried when everyone of my four started school. Now they are all grown up, left home and three of them have families of their own, lord do I feel old now I’ve just read back. My youngest, Frances is a hotel manager in a ski resort in France and we are off to see her in March so we will have snow then as we didn’t have any at all during the recent freeze! Have to admit to not being a snow person although an elderly friend of mine has assured me that ‘foreign snow is a lot better than English snow’!!!

    Hi Claire
Moving house is so exciting, but so traumatic too As far as packing up goes, in view of the fact that you are going to move 3 times in all, I think you are right to do it yourself. Only you can decide which things you will definitely need straight away, which you can manage without for a while, and which you could pack away for some time without any problem. All I would say is, as you fill each box, spare time to write on it whats inside, and don’t just put “kitchen stuff”, but itemize it, as it’s frightening how quickly you forget what’s where.I’m sure you’ve thought about packing youselves a box for the day you move. not just with hot drink making equipment and sandwich ingredients, but cold drinks too, just in case there are any power problems! Don’t forget the bottle of wine to toast your new home with. Another little tip if you’re moving at this time of year – by the time you are finished and in, the house will be freezing, with all doors open all day with people tramping in and out.Do check the heating and make sure that it doesn’t go off overnight. Have extra woollies and throws to hand for the same reason. Hope it all goes well!! Love Sandra in Yorkshire.

Sandra, you re a star…I think the contents tip. ie writing whats in each box sounds fab, definately the wine!!! And to check the heating especially with the children, i want them to be cosy and settled! Thankyou Thankyou Thanyou !!! for taking a moment to help.

Marie, have a great trip to the french snow! I remember my mum visiting me in Monte Carlo , we had SUCH a nice time, I hope you and Frances do to C x
Denise, I must just say that with the lovely people in this world like you it makes life so much easier….We too have been incredibly lucky for Tom and have Donna who is a super one to one for him.Secondary school sounds a scarey prospect though, year 3 is Tom now so like most things i ll just take the days as they come and worry about things ahead when i need to…Many thanks for your lovely words, Take care, Claire xx

    Hi Claire,
Good luck with the move – everything will be fine. As Sandra mentioned – remember to pack the kettle, tea, coffee, mugs, spoons – all the things you need to make a cup of tea/coffee last, along with some biscuits and drinks for the children. This box should then be the first box to be unpacked. Another little hint, in case the water has been turned off or you are unsure how long the water has been sitting in the pipes, pack a few bottles of water. A torch/candles. Some toys and books for the children, as well as a book for yourself.
An old tradition advises new home owners to take the following into their new homes:
A box of salt for protection
A loaf of bread, so one may never hunger
A bottle of wine/water, so one will never first
A new broom, so all the old worries will not carried into the new home.
I’ll look forward to reading how the home move has gone.
    Take care

hi claire, good luck with the move i’m sure all will go well it is ten years since we moved, we had been married for 3 months when we bourght a deralict barn and so moved into a caravan in november and had the coldest winter we had had in years, ice on the inside of the caravan and newlyweds sleeping in wooly hats and gloves. we survived it though and are still married and after 18 months moved into our lovely barn which we converted literally our blood sweat and tears are in this house but all worth while. even now when i drive up to the house i think, thats ours, i live there and it fills me with pride. i’m sure everything will go well for you and i send you all my best wishes, take care, look forward to seeing you on air soon, all the best karen xx

Oh Mel , what a great old tradition..i love it and particularly the broom and salt, now does qvc sell brooms and salt?!!!!Good thought re the bottles of water as i know the house hasnt been lived in since May. Im trying so hard to make it an exciting adventure for the children and positive for Dan, he’s daunted and worried by the enormity of it all, especially as he’s daddy in charge today and is washing all the bedding as Maddie was sick in the night…a lot!! and he’s going up in the loft to sort today too. I do keep getting a lump in my thtoat at the thought of saying farewell to our lovely home…Stay strong, that must be my mantra!

Hope the move goes well, not to mention smoothly. If problems do pop up (and they most probably will) just remember these things are sent to try us, and it will sort itself out, so try not to stress about it, and dont forget your secret weapon, “GRANDMA & GRANDPA”, they are invalueable, they really are. Hello Claire. I found coming with Country Living for June is a booklet called “How to Live the Good Life”. It has information about hens amongst many other things. And that reminds me The Good Life was filmed in Northwood, Middlesex and one day they filmed in my then home town Northwood Hills. It looks very different now!
Hope all is well with everyone.

    Hi Claire
I was watching your two L’occitane shows on Sunday 14 June and I treated myself to the TSV. Out of curiosity I was just wondering what your favourite perfume was. You said that you only ever wore one particular fragrance. You did praise the L’occitane cherry blossom and I might put this on my wish list for my birthday. I am always swapping and changing fragrances. At the moment I am wearing Calyx by Prescriptives and it it nice to wear in the summer months. I also like Tova Nights fragrance as well.
Just to say I love your shows and you always appear radiant and beautiful in front of the cameras. Keep up the good work.
    Kind regards

It was so lovely to see you, yesterday, at the beauty bash. You are such a lovely, bubbly person, and it was such a pleasure to talk to you. You made our day. We had not had such a lovely mother and daughter moment for a long time, with Tahra being so busy at uni and me feeling down at the moment. Talking to you was a real pick me up and lifted our spirits, and we went home in such positive mood, with all the lovely goodies in our bags. We are ready to face the world again, whatever is thrown at us.
    Thank you very much again.

    Hi Claire
I was watching you and Charlie Lapson on Sunday (11th April) with his amazing handbags. My partner thought the bags were lovely but he couldn’t understand why I was getting so excited about the designs and the fantastic array of colours. It’s obviously a girl thing! Anyway, besides the fabulous handbags may I say how stunning you looked in your beautiful maxi dress and may I ask where you got it from? The dress went so well with just about all the colours of Charlie’s handbags. Excellent choice of outfit for the show and for the lovely sunny day we were having (although didn’t get out much what with the Charlie Lapson and Laura Geller on the same day).
    With all good wishes,

I have just bought a aeropilates machine off qvc and very pleased with it, I will keep in touch with Julia as she is a fan of pilates.I am 60 years old although everyone says i look much younger!!and i am very young at heart, but i am not happy with my skin, starting to get lines and wrinkles, they are not to bad but i no their there and i don,t like them, i have always used Liz Earles clense and polish but i have changed and at the moment i am in the middle of trying Elemis and Decleor, ordered them just before christmas, the problem is i don,t which i prefer, my skin is lovely and clear, which is your favorite? Hope you don,t mind me picking

Hi Claire, This is the first blog I have felt compelled to respond to. I have a 12 yr old grandson who has autism & like you we rely on the senco team understanding & helping him cope with daily life at school. In primary he really struggled, as did the school, he was not an easy child, angry, aggressive at times but with a lovely sense of humour to compensate. Going up to big school was such a worry for us all, what a difference, an understanding team has transformed his whole school experience. They listen, care & respond & I can’t tell you what a difference that has made. He still struggles in the mainstream environment but the senco team are wonderful. Hopefully Tom will get on just as well & really flourish. I so admire your cheerfulness & positive personality as we all try very hard to see the positive side of everything life throws at you! Hello Claire,
I just caught the latter part of you presenting Gayle Hayman, Sunday 20 Jan. at 1pm. and I absolutely love the top you were wearing; I must say you looked stunning, as always. Please would you mind letting me know where you bought it from as it would be perfect for an occasion I will be attending soon.
Many thanks and hope you don’t mind me asking.
    Kind regards

Maggie, it’s been ages since you posted up the curtain request! But in my current blog today is Feb 8th you see them in the background with the tulips!’
    Hope you are well,
    LOve Claire x

Getty, my godly ruffle top was French Connection, it’s a pickle to get on and off though. I think the pattern cutter was a tad mean and forgot women are not totally straight up and down!
Nice to hear from you x

Joanne, try as I might I can’t recall what I wore that day…I’m sooooo sorry, if you see it again, post on my current blog, then I’ll see it before the memory veils over! Claire xx

Nigel, I truly hope that you are doing ok as we’ve moved into February. It was worrying to hear of your situation and I really hope things are better for you…Love Claire x

Joan I soooo wish I could remember, I can recall Sam’s top, my guest. Hang on, was it black and peachy with flared sleeves? If so it was a Ghost top, but from some time ago I’m sorry. I do love my clothes, but tend to keep them so whilst it may be a “just bought” number, equally it’s from ions ago!!!!!!
Thank you though and I hope you are well,
    Love Claire x

Gemma sounds superb, what a lot she has endured already. I’m so pleased all is well, though I guess the worry is always with you, as well I know. If there’s ever anything I can help you with please do ask, I find some one who has experienced the stage I’m in can often be a great help, so anything please ask and keep in touch.
    With love to you all,
    Claire x

Hello Claire … I’ve just watched your ‘hair routine’ video and really enjoyed it. However, I LOVE your hair au naturel. Have you ever thought of keeping it like that on air to see what viewers think? Also, I love your photo’s……they made me smile 🙂

that’s so nice of you to say, isn’t it weird though how I just think I’d look a bit toooo like I hadn’t bothered enough for everyone! Old habits die hard, maybe if I find a product that beach babed it a bit!! I’d give it a go….let’s see… My nickname from my brother is Jay!!!! Not that it makes sense and is quite long winded to explain…but…C J are my initials, so CJ became JC which he said was a dumper truck..(!!! Quite what relevance that had I don’t know) so that shortened to JAYCEE then Jay!!!! I’m sure you needed to know that, NOT but it made me smile writing it down!
    Have a lovely day,
    Claire x

    Hi Claire
Loved the fab blue flowered dress you wore at the beginning of the week on YBF show. So summery! Is it available through QVC?

Hi Claire, your children are beautiful, just like yourself! Thanks for sharing – your blog is great! You are one of the best presenters on QVC, and – oh well I may as well say it – some of them are so pleased with their own voice that they speak over the guests, and dont let them get a word in edgeways – well you do not do that, but encourage them to tell us about themselves and their product! Well done, Claire, you are a pleasure to watch on QVC. Some presenters I will sit down and watch, others, I change channel . . . say no more x
