I know lots of you will be counting the sleeps to Christmas but I am excitedly counting the sleeps to the publication of my second novel, the first paperback copy of which arrived yesterday. More of that later and also a way to get information about all my ‘bookie’ things if you’re interested rather than having too much on here.
I’ve had a really enjoyable on air week at QVC with lots of my favourite shows. Last weekend I was on with Simon Wilson for a Butler & Wilson jewellery show which was followed by my first show for Radley. I thought the guest Katie was fab, really natural, and it turns out she and her mum are long-time QVC fans. She was so pleased to be introduced to Simon as their shows were back to back.
Sunday of course was the Elemis Christmas TSV with Keeley. Most of you should have received it by now if you ordered – I hope you all like the new scent, Sweet Orchid, as much as I do?
Although I wasn’t on with Biba on Monday I did order a top from the new collection which I wore during my Clarks show – I really loved the Today’s Special Value offer Enfield boots (157175). Mines are brown but I’m going to order them in black as well if we still have my size.
This week has also been the Liz Earle mini series. It’s always a pleasure to work with Caroline Archer but on our show on Wednesday we were joined by Abigail James whose impression of a puffer fish had me in stitches. Caroline was trying to squeeze information out of me about the new book but my lips were sealed. I was however able to show her the first paperback copy of it when I saw her in the guest lounge yesterday – bless her, she was so excited.
For Caroline, and those of you who are interested in my ‘bookie’ stuff, I now have a webpage http://www.juliarobertsbooks.co.uk I am really pleased with the way it looks but I can’t take the credit for it. My other half, Chris, has been hard at work for the last couple of weeks, with a bit of help from our daughter, Sophie. There are links to videos, newspaper articles, my books, this blog and also a picture gallery and there is a feature called my week which, as the name suggests, I will update weekly. This week I put the recipe for these veggie Stuffed Peppers on it if you want to head over for a look. There is also a section for you to message me. Really proud of all the work Chris has put into it particularly as he has never done anything like it before.
One or two of you have been asking after Poppy after the pictures I posted of Wilfie and Milo last week. She is doing really well for her age despite her deafness and still looks so pretty. She is funny with her food though. I buy her really tasty treats which she will wolf down for a couple of days and then suddenly stop eating it as though it’s poisoned. A particular favourite of hers is tuna and shrimp. Each tin has mostly tuna with two whole shrimps, which are supposed to be the delicacy. Poppy picks around the ‘poison’ shrimps! At least Wilfie and Milo get to enjoy them.
‘Fashion on Friday’ is back today at 5pm with Centigrade. I’ll be needing my red Centigrade coat this weekend as Sophie and I are going to visit Daniel in Swansea and the weather forecast has temperatures plummeting with some snow possible brrrrr! At 6pm I have L’Occitane His & Hers Gift Ideas – I’m still enjoying the Divine Cream from this range.
As it is my weekend off, I will be missing the fabulous Laura Geller Today’s Special Value offer which launches at midnight tonight. It promises to be very popular so, if you are a fan, you might want to order early although hopefully there is plenty of stock to go round.
It will be a poignant weekend for me. We lost my dad eight years ago, six days before Daniel’s 21st birthday. The other evening as I was climbing into my car after work there was a white feather lying on the seat… I still miss him dreadfully. On that note, my heart goes out to all the families affected by the events in Paris last week.
Be kind to each other
