I’ve never done any of those big festivals – V, Glastonbury and all that jazz, have you? I’m not a camper. I’ve never enjoyed sleeping in a tent in the middle of a field. All that packing your wellies and a raincoat for that unexpected downpour seems like a lot of effort to me. All to wait and see some bands on the stage, that you’re so far back from, you wonder why you bothered to pay all that money to go in the first place?
But there’s one local annual ‘festival’ that Austen and I like to try and get to, tucked away in Moseley Village, in Birmingham. We didn’t manage it last year but this week we’re going. Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul is a three-day extravaganza with two stages, lots of DJs and a chilled out, ‘grown-up’ vibe.
You get to see some fabulous live music over the days. No tents required, and it’s incredibly family-friendly. It’s a small but perfectly formed festival, and wonderfully local. Plus one of my most favourite breweries ever – Purity Ales host a beer tent. So we’re not left wanting!

At the end of the month there’s the third Birmingham Beer Bash – be quick to buy tickets if you want them. It’s another awesome street food and beer extravaganza.
The organising team are an amazing group of Brummie beer-loving volunteers who wanted to bring some of the most exciting breweries from around Britain to the second city. Every year since it’s started it’s been a triumph and I reckon it’ll be another rip-roaring success this year.
Thanks to some of my lovely local QVC fans who came to the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham last week to enjoy the second annual West Midlands Woman of the Year Awards. I hosted the packed-out event, which was High Tea and fun – all to honour some of the most incredible women from the region whom 10 local, professional female judges deemed to be inspiring others in the world of Entrepreneurship, Education and Sport amongst others.
I couldn’t wait to wear my Together maxi dress. Big hello and thanks to Natalie, Lynne, Alex, Jill, Sian and June, plus Jill who drove all the way from Peterborough with her dog Nesta , and my fab pal Ann who came up from London. It was a truly glamorous affair – check out the pictures
Fiorelli handbags are back at QVC!
Look out for the re-launch show on Saturday night with me at 10pm. One of my first ‘named’ handbags if you like, was a Fiorelli – that was about 15 years ago. It’s great to have the brand back at QVC so look out for exciting new styles, with prices that won’t break the bank. I’m going to have a chat with the Fiorelli team in London later this week. #exciting
And if you’re looking for a super way to get healthier this year then look no further than the TSV I’m launching on Friday 10th July – the Nutri Ninja blender is back. 900 watts of blitzing power! It’s incredible. I’ve been trying it and you can have so much fun with it.
I’ve done myself a pineapple frozen yoghurt with frozen pineapple, some natural yoghurt and ice cubes – delicious and mega easy too!!
Make sure you tune in with me and fitness expert, Caroline Sandry.
