Last week was half term, our first official ‘school holiday’. It was so nice to have Tilda at home for the week as it’s been strange not seeing her all day while she’s at school. We decided to have a few days down in Cornwall to enjoy some family time all together.
We booked a small apartment in Fistral to stay in looking over the beach and it was a perfect. We could walk along the beach filled with surfers to the Rick Stein Fish and Chip restaurant, which as you can imagine was really good fish and chips even if it did cost a £1 per pot for their posh mayonnaise!!!
We got to catch up with some friends who live over in Gwithian and also have two young girls. We all headed to the Paradise Park Wildlife Centre to see the most incredible birds but also for a kids Halloween Disco. The girls all loved it and Ivy spent the whole time dancing with a broom dressed as a little witch.
The following day we visited Padstow and pottered around the lovely little harbour, ate ice cream and mooched around the art galleries. My perfect kind of day! On the Sunday we headed home via the most wonderful place called The Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you are ever down that way it’s a must visit.
The gardens were originally created in the mid 18th century but were terribly neglected after the First World War and left to overgrow. They were rediscovered in the 90s and now boast the most incredible subtropical plants, walled gardens and giant rock figures like the wonderful ‘Mud Maid’ who lies across the ground in the woods.
We took home two very tired little girls but had a lovely few days and would definitely head back for another holiday at some point.
It was straight back to work for me the following day and my first launch of a Today’s Special Value too. It was the Magnitone Cleansing brush and it was so popular. Hardly surprising as the price was fantastic! I would love to know if any of you bought it and how you are getting on with it.
We’ve had some great new brands joining QVC recently, one of them in particular is Fiorelli handbags. Stylish, high quality and fashionable these bags really are gorgeous and I have one to give away (see pic above) !! The value of the bag is £59 and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning it is answer this question:
Q – Which area did we stay in on our Cornish Holiday?
A – Fistral
B – Padstow
C – Gwithian
Just post your answer in the comments below and make sure to leave an email address (don’t worry, this won’t be made public). The competition closes at noon on Thursday 10th November and a winner will be drawn at random from all the correct entries. Full terms and conditions can be found here Good luck! I will announce the winner in next week’s post.
