Did summer really just fly by in front of our eyes? I can’t believe it. I feel like I blinked and the holidays were over. It’s already back to school for Tilda and I’m down to one little one at home during the day. I can’t believe Tilda is already into her second school year. I keep thinking of that Abba song ‘Slipping Through my Fingers’ that Meryl Streep sings in Mamma Mia and it makes my eyes fill up. They really do grow up so quickly.
Even though the summer holidays went fast, we did have a great summer, we spent the last two weeks of August in West Cork, Ireland, at my parent’s cottage. We have been coming here since we were kids, and my mum since she was a young girl too. It’s one of the most unspoilt places in the world in our opinion.
There’s nothing and everything to do there. You have to make the fun yourself! If you’re not happy going from glorious sunshine to sideways rain in the blink of an eye then it’s not the place for you. We spend our time here kicking about on the beach, picking mussels off the rocks, blackberries from the hedgerows, messing about in boats, eating toasties and cider in the pub and listening to the locals start a good old sing song on the pier complete with guitars and ‘squeeze box’. It’s wild and wonderful and we love it.
This year Fred and I did a really beautiful walk to where there is a beautiful old ruin. When we arrived the mist was down and you couldn’t even see it, but as if by magic the mist cleared almost instantly to reveal itself. It was like something from a movie or Game of Thrones! I was wearing my slouchy jumper by Anybody which I believe is sold out now but you can see more from the range here.
Fred and I also got the opportunity to go out for dinner, just the two of us. Definitely a perk of going away with the grandparents! My ‘date night’ outfit included my Label Lab Leather jacket, Amanda Wakeley backpack and gold Vionic trainers.
It was a great trip spending time with family and friends and I can’t wait for us to go back.
Back at QVC though, I want to tell you about a new range of zodiac watches from Pilgrim. Watches seem to be having a bit of a moment and these ones will no doubt be popular. Each style shows the constellation of each zodiac star sign with crystal markers. Having your star sign represented makes it so much more personal to you and to someone you are gifting it to as it shows you’ve really thought about them.
Pilgrim often bring us pieces like this within their jewellery range, we’ve seen constellations on earrings and pendants before so it’s really nice to have the watch design now too. You can see the watch featured in the Pilgrim show with myself and fabulous Helen Roysdotter this Sunday at 1pm!
I think that’s it from me this week, I’m saving the launch of Laithwaite’s wine for next week’s blog so make sure to check back next week.
Hope you tune in this Sunday xxx
