Fabulous at 40 and beyond!

Singathon picsIt's a show title here at QVC but it's also an unspoken mantra among my friends and I.

I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I celebrated my 40th with my daughter who turned 18 last year. Once you're over that hill I think you start rolling down the other side at rather a speedy pace! Where did that year go?

Lots of my friends are in the same boat so we just ignore the numbers and act our shoe size not our age! My best friend, Mel, celebrated her 41st with a karaoke party at her place.

She's great at making parties fun with great decorating and props all on a budget. She had wigs, hats and glasses for us to play with during our singathon. Great for ice breaking and even greater for smile making!

Singathon pic 2Singathon pic 3Mel's mother is currently receiving treatment for breast cancer so the party was in aid of Macmillan Nurses so it was all for a very positive cause as well as making everyone smile.

I don't believe that being over 40 should mean you stop having fun and being playful.

Life is for living, laughing and enjoying every moment as we really never do know what might be around the corner. YOLO (you only live once) as my daughter often says.

Everyone at Thorpe ParkI've always loved fairgrounds, roller coasters, theme parks and generally anything that gets the adrenalin pumping. To my delight I work with a lot of like minded folk.

Several members of our broadcasting team and I went to Thorpe Park recently. If you've never been its a must! We had so much fun and it was a really lovely sunny day.

One of the very few we've had this year! I just thought you might like to see some of the wonderful people I work with who are always there, always fabulous but always behind the scenes.

Thorpe Park 2Let's hope my next blog will be reporting on a freak heatwave! I'm bored of the cold and gloomy weather now.

Love your shows Catherine, such honest banter with your guests. Now life they say begins at 40 not sure why. So enjoy, enjoy life just gets better with age. As they say live each day as if it is your last, always smile, laugh and be generous to a fault.

Catherine, I was wondering what has happened to the craft shows you said were coming back just a few weeks ago. I keep checking the schedule but so far…nothing. Any idea what’s happening? I live in Spain and rely on QVC for the majority of my craft supplies. Otherwise QVC is great, and am loving Diamonique Day -have just ordered the TSV in the simulated emerald – it’s a 40th wedding anniversary gift from my husbsand (December this year!)

    Hi Linda,
Thanks for your message. Sorry it’s taken so long but I’ve only just seen it.
Yes, the craft shows have become very few and far between. I am told we will be having craft shows but they will be more quality over quantity..as in really great brands and guests but less on air shows. Worth having a look online at our craft products to see what’s new. I’m sure you’ve probably done this already.
I am sorry you’re missing craft. I am too. I guess you and I will both have to watch this space for now but as soon as I have any fresh information I will be sure to make it known.
On another note could you please send some sunshine over to the UK? We seem to have missed out again this year!
    Love Catherine xx

    Dear Lads @ Weston!
You’ve made this 40 something smile from ear to ear! Thanks for your compliments. Glad to hear you enjoy the shows. You must have missed myself and Glynis Barber doing yoga together recently, that was fun!
    Love to you all,
    Catherine xx

    Hi Catherine,
We were all surprised you replied as we had given up any hope! We did miss the yoga show but managed to find a clip on a well known video website. Looked like a lot of fun with Glynis.Downward facing dog reminded us of another position-maybe next time you could also try Cat – Cow Stretch. We all think they resemble other non yoga positions…..any ideas? Looking fab in all your shows, we are breaking up soon so will be able to catch up on more. Any more fitness sessions coming up? Your cult status has got more following since the blog and some of us are doing a media project on presenters. We all love you and want to say keep up the top heavy work!xxx

    Hi Catherine
I loved the glasses you were wearing this morning on the show – what sort are they?/where are they from? Thank you :)
