We wear darker clothes in autumn/winter, it's fashion that ushers us that way and we are all guilty, especially me. I quite like it though, I love winter clothes they allow for lots of mis-matched layering of greys, charcoals, blacks and of course this seasons 'in' colour: damson. We can still express ourselves though, just in other ways.
To stand out from a crowd at this time of year it's all about accessories & nails, especially in the winter. Any dark outfit, coat, dress or even comfy leggings look good with a few choice accessories and some jazzy nails. Think of belts, hats, scarves (I love scarves), chunky jewellery, nails and shoes that have a hint of colour – all great ways to add flashes of brightness and personality. Scarves in particular are a super simple easy way to spruce up the most monotone of outfits, they even add a touch of glamour. Anyone can wear a scarf; there's usually a multitude of ways to through it on and one size generally fits all.
Nails also show character. We are spoilt at QVC with our fabulous nail brands; there's OPI, Ciate, Leighton Denny and Nails Inc to name a few. UK brands have a strong presence on the international nail scene; one of those leaders is the fashion forward Nails Inc. Entrepreneurial founder Thea Green who has received an MBE for her services to beauty. Nails Inc offer innovative, catwalk inspired professional products so creative that they invented the 15 minute manicure when they opened the South Molten Street store near London's Bond Street. Nails Inc can always be found behind the scenes at fashion weeks working with designers on the latest looks.
Now at QVC, fashion and nails go hand in hand, and many see nails as an extension of your make up and personality. Don't feel like it's all about having the best show stopping salon quality nails, because I don't. I do find that bright colours take the attention away from poorer quality nails anyway, so jump on the nail painting band wagon at QVC. It's fair to say Nails Inc have their proverbial fingers on the trend pulse when it comes to nails, to keep up with the game and join us on QVC for The Nails Inc Mini Series commencing on Sunday 27th October.
